One additional comment: northeastern Ohio has a New England feel because it was territory claimed by Connecticut as its "Western Reserve." I like that about Shaker Heights.

Live in Shaker. Love everything except for the taxes!

Cleveland Heights and University Heights have some more taxes but in my opinion, less benefit. Desirability is a little less and the school systems are not nearly as highly ranked. But yes, the taxes are high! :-)

He’s seems like a nice guy…but if was moving to Cleveland( in which I use to live for 45 yrs) I would look for advice from blue collar folks. They are the heart of Cleveland and they have the best advice.

Thanks for the nice words! For sure, there are some blue collar areas and more white collar areas. Full honesty, I don't know the blue collar area as well as white collar, but LOTS of great areas to explore.

I lived in shaker for years. I did not buy in shaker when I was looking for housing…why? Taxes…shaker is nice, but it’s not that nice. Much better bang for the buck in other areas. The schools are crap (used to be good) but everyone that lives there pretends they are amazing lol

The only major issue I am seeing with Shaker is that there are not many local retail spaces for coffee etc that are really walkable. Shaker square is like a ghost town
