Ellie uses an eye gaze device. She didn't get it until 2 years ago at the age of 10, and she took to it almost immediately. She has so much to say after a decade of not being able to communicate fully. We are still working daily on building those skills, but if you are willing to put in the work it is totally worth it! These kiddos are in there.

I used to teach children with severe learning difficulties how to use assistive technology so yes it is possible foe avery to communicate. Ask for an assessment and for training

Crissie thank you for answering my question, on whether they make something that would mark it easier to carry Avery. I only wish there was something that could help you out. Avery is such a beautiful little girl, and she looked gorgeous today in her long braids! Thanks for the update, sending y’all loads of love and prayers!👋👋NC🫶🙏

She is so so precious and yes she is getting big. Her smile melts my heart. Thank you for answering a lot of questions we think about. I have often wondered how you will how you will take care of her the older and bigger she gets. Her braids are so cute,she doesn’t look Ike a baby anymore,she’s a bright and beautiful little girl. God Bless you Crissie. ❤

Hi, Avery and mummy. This is the most bright and glowing I have seen Avery. We spoke awhile back about my sons medical conditions he just had scoliosis surgery. If you ever want to chat, I am here ❤ my sons was caused by his nerve damaged he developed when age 4 is now age 15. His was growing fast within 6 months . Be carful my sons lungs was in his chest and lung function was poor. If the curve under 40 degrees then they like to brace over 40 like to do surgery my son had thoracolumbar scoliosis and was over 100 degrees. ❤❤❤

You're still 3inches taller than me. If you sitting on a chair is safer than walking down the stairs with Avery, It should be possible to get a chairlift which attaches to the stairs rather than the wall, in a rented property, (with permission) restored ones being cheaper. Obviously not for her to use without you.
@mummyandaveryАй бұрын
Yes this is an option we will be discussing with OT when we move. But the ideal would be that Avery had a ground floor bedroom and bathroom xx

The blends make no difference to her because she’s not tasting anything. She won’t be able to see or feel any different so it’s really just extra work for you.
@karenfitzpatrick6256Ай бұрын
On the other hand, no one but Avery knows what she can perceive or how she understands life within herself. For example, people who can't see with their eyes often have greater hearing acuity. My mom had no sense of smell, yet she could taste very subtle differences in ingredients none of the rest of us could. I'm just saying we can't know until she can communicate more clearly just what her world is like. The variety in diet her mom gives her isn't harming her in any way. And if it gives Avery some pleasurable sensations and mom a chance to feed her daughter real food, why not?
@mummyandaveryАй бұрын
It makes a big difference internally even if she doesn’t notice the differences. Her enteral feed provides her with all the nutrients she needs but there are lots of foods and herbs that have properties that can be beneficial to her just like they are for us. I made a video a while ago discussing the benefits of a blended diet xx
@mimijulene6307Ай бұрын
@@mummyandavery I completely agree! Wonderful benefits to using blended foods!!
