Though Francine is actually pretty awful, in that she's an obsessive coddler who goes crazy when her family becomes independent. Whenever Steve starts growing up she basically manipulates him into remaining dependent on her like the infamous breast milk issue. And she also did this to Stan too. Stan comes off worse cause he's the focus of more episodes bur Francine is just as controlling in her own way.

stan has his good and bad moments but francine cheated on stan at least once, she is not perfect either and through the show many of her flaws are showed and they are as big as stans but lately in the last years the show has depicted francine as the good one out of the 2 for some reasons while at the start it was more like both had big flaws

At least they actually evolved as a family. If u compare dem from earlier seasons to the ones they've become now, u'll see that now they're way more united, like cmon, Stan literally treats Jeff as his bff now. I think that speaks volumes. Earlier yeah, they were awful

No. Not particularly, no. That being said, he's better than Peter, because his love (with all its faults) is true. He's a self-serving, neglectful asshole for sure. But he does love Francine, he gave up Heaven in exchange for eternal damnation so that they could go back to Earth. And in addendum, he does love his kids. To this day, we are still unsure of Hayley's true parentage. The indetity of Hayley's father keeps being brought up, thus it wasn't a 1-time plot device to be forgotten. But Stan still gave her a kidney, and saved her multiple other times. In spite of hating Jeff with a passion, also saves him multiple times, because Hayley is miserable without him. Ironically, he does more damage to his kids than Peter, because he has a (misguided/deluded) care for their wellbeing. Peter is spiteful, and most recently holding Lois hostage in their marriage under threat of suicide.

The answer is no. As far as I've seen, they married for selfish reasons. The point of their relationship is that it's entertaining. If they were a loving couple like real life, people would be bored of it. Stan & Francine may be selfish & shallow, but at the end of the day, they are lovers & they'll remain tha way, even when they have their moments of wanting to cheat or threaten. I love them together & in some episodes, you can see that Francine & Stan would hate to lose one another.

He’s really not better than Peter. I just think American Dad is funnier and easier to watch than Family Guy. Who would you rather be married to Peter or Stan? The treatment of both of their wives is hard to watch but for some reason if American Dad wasn’t funny/goofy Stan would be hard to watch with Francine. He is cruel. Just because Francine is written to be “insane” is not a write off. She’s cute and loyal and a okay mother. Compared to what they did to Lois to make Peter’s treatment of her excusable.
