Hey, Thor, I've always enjoyed your content. I totally understand the sentiment of the comment in this video. For me, there came a point where I was done with Disney Star Wars, and I don't even want to talk about it anymore, or click on YT videos about it. However, my love for OG Star Wars has not diminished. My family had movie night once a week and we just finished Star Wars 1-6. One thing that was special about this round of viewing was that it was my sister-in-law's introduction to Star Wars, and it was all new to her. Strangely, her favorite of the original six films was Attack of the Clones, and her least favorite was Revenge of the Sith. I think what I find so special about your channel is the engagement with the community. I still look forward to Meme Monday. The Battle of the Heros and Villains polls and videos were classics! I think there is still room in the KZbin space for positive talk about Star Wars. I wouldn't worry too much about whether something has been done before. Make content that you enjoy. I think you would enjoy talking about random Star Wars topics in ways that interact with the community via polls and comments (just like you've always done), and we would enjoy it too.

Personally I would be more interested in some coverage of the huge mass of Legends Star Wars as I have missed the vast majority of the Legends stories.

Of any kind. I would have no idea what is happening in that galaxy far far away if not for this. I feel like if the acolyte was better than what we got, the aftermath of the series would have included Star Wars KZbinrs diving into interesting theories (not had many of those since the Snoke theories prior to The Last Jedi). How about looking at the EU and comparing those stories to their Disney canon counterpart? It could be a fun way for fans for either side of the canon to dip their toes into stories they otherwise wouldn’t (EU fans might find the canon equivalent interesting and vise versa for canon fans might really enjoy the legends story that came before).

Here are a few of my thoughts Thor. I hope any of them will be useful. 1) I feel like I don't see many people give their specific thoughts on EU content. It's usually just lore videos. I really liked your video going through Dark Empire #1 and just expressing how you felt about it. I think continuing that series (and of course going into other EU projects) would be really refreshing. 2) When it comes to your creative projects, I think something that would be cool would be you making what you want to see out of Star Wars. Like if you had complete creative control of the next big Star Wars project, what would it be? Seeing/hearing that would be sick, your "What If Ahsoka Never Left the Order" series was amazing and I'd love to see more stuff like it. I know it can be worrying shifting your content because modern KZbin loves extremes so much, but your true fans will continue to support you even if there is a change in your typical videos. We will watch your career with great interest!

It’s quite sad the most interesting thing about Star Wars currently is the drama surrounding the KZbinrs who focus their channels on Star Wars content. By no fault of their’s is that the case. For me, the whole debate about the prequels vs. the sequels vs. the originals has long fascinated me. I dont think I could ever get tired of talking about that. I truly believe at the very worst the prequels are solid efforts IF judged by the same standards of the originals. The sequels dont even feel like they are in the same universe as the originals and prequels. Obviously a lot of people dont agree with that. What I get bored about is talking about Disney Star Wars in general (such as the Acolyte) , because I just dont have a dog in that fight. I gave up on Disney Star Wars after the first five minutes of TFA. I just dont care about it. It doesnt exist to me.

I disagree. As an OT purist i despise the prequels because they don't feel like star wars. Sequels feel like a cheap knockoff or generic star wars like bargain brand. The prequels just feel like someone who hated the OT made 3 star wars films imo. Which is kikda what kucas was, thats why he went back to change the OT

For me I love the prequels more than the OT. I fell in love with the clones then as I grew up I fell in love with the story of the prequels and personally I prefer the story of the prequels over the OT. The sequels just happened. They exist that's all there is to say about them.

I love your idea of supporting the fandom and being excited about what the fans are doing. Fanfiction fan films. There’s such a rich amount of material out there. I think this would be a great direction to go in. It’s a direction I thought about doing as a podcast for a number of months now. I also really enjoy the what ifs, the alternatives theories or possibilities, different directions in which the story could be taken. And one last point it sounds like you have a direction to go in one that can find your passion again and I wholeheartedly support and encourage you to do that.

I found this channel during speculation after The Force Awakens. The theories were very fun and there was genuine excitement in the fanbase. Nowadays, in late 2024, Star Wars is a dead brand with no upcoming movies. There is nothing to talk about anymore, and we have Disney to blame for that.

You've always been a very deliberate, reasonable, and insightful on what you have to say on any matter. Something I greatly respect and Appreciate! I do feel like a lot of the videos as of late have lead down to the same rabbit hole topics one way or the next, no matter how the topic itself begins. Which genuinely feels insane with how large of a franchise star wars is that you and so many other star wars content creators can be sapped of discussion points. Whether is Looking into Creating original/fan fics of star wars, or looking at more obscure works or character from the old eu, or delving into a different series to discuss matters on. I do think there are plentiful options, just virtually none offered by what star wars is now. As even it's better content is going to lead to discussion overall tedious atmosphere.

Hey Thor, I've been wondering about droid sentience lately and why Star Wars rarely takes it seriously. I even think that people applauding clone sentience and individuality is a bit of a double standard when those same people dismiss droids as merely extensions of their creators. Even though Rex famously denies this, the fact is that clones are programmed to obey orders without question and are manufactured. Most clones only have limited independent thinking and a clone being able to live outside a military is incredibly rare. The only reason they develop individuality is because of experience. But the funny thing is, droids develop individuality for the same reason. The only difference is that droids regularly have their memories wiped specifically to prevent them from developing individuality and potentially rebelling. There's a moment in Heir to the Empire where Luke is asked why he has never wiped C-3PO's memories in all the years he's known him, and Luke reveals that he's uncomfortable with the idea of stripping his friend of individuality. And I don't know if you have played KOTOR 2 yet, but there's a mission where HK-47 argues with HK-50, who dismisses him as obsolete. But HK-47 argues that he is superior because he has developed individuality and has given himself a higher purpose and meaning because he has never had his mind wiped. These examples show that droid sentience should not be played for laughs so much in the franchise. In fact, I think the galaxy is overdue for a galaxy-wide droid revolution just to show people that sentient droids deserve equal treatment. This is actually addressed in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Measure of a Man" where Lt. Data's rights are debated because he's an android and I wish Star Wars had something similar. What do you think?

I'd argue there's no indication that droids have consciousness in the films. "Well, if droids could think, there'd be none of us here, would there?" They're just well-programmed AIs, not replicants from Blade Runner.

I'd be fine with EU discussions since I haven't found a lot of channels that talk about that, and for the most part I've come to strongly prefer the EU to the stuff Disney is putting out and there is still a lot of the EU that I haven't yet read. Maybe discussions of how you feel about the philosophies regarding the force as they were laid out in New Jedi Order, Dark Nest Trilogy, and beyond, stuff like that could be interesting. But yeah, Acolyte was....disappointing, and it was cancelled and the people behind the show are....not taking it very well. Time to move on already.

I click on your videos because you're articulate and knowledgeable. What I don't see on KZbin, is the content creators have not expressed where Star Wars should go moving forward, whether it be continuing the Rey storyline, or something else taking place after the end of the Skywalker saga. Is the flip side just ending the Rey storyline and starting anew, with a completely different origin story? I want to move forward, and do NOT want to keep rehashing nostalgia. Would love to hear your thoughts.

If they do go forward in time, I hope they do what was the only realistic narrative option (rather than commercial option) back when they bought the damn thing, and start somewhere else in the galaxy and concentrate on the core themes of SW. Disney SW to date is (almost) all empty calories. Unfortunately, I don't think they as a company can agree on what those themes are or how relevant they are to modern fans.

Yes. While I often agree with the takes and tend to dislike a lot of the newer content, I don't need to see another video on why Acolyte is terrible, why Ahsoka is mid, or why the sequels are awful, but that for some reason seems to be just about everything 'Star Wars' on the internet these days. First off, you guys are doing an awesome job! The problem isn't you. The problem is that since Disney took over they haven't created a _single_ original thing. All they've done is rehash previous content trying to re-spin it with woke and socialist messaging. It's been a long 12 years with nothing new and everything we loved from before being dragged through the dirt and defiled, often at a Jr. High School level of stagecraft. What I'd love to see from this channel is in-depth analysis of old Star Wars Games, pre-Disney expanded universe stories, real-life situations which occurred before and during the making of the original trilogy and the prequels, and what happened to and between the players involved. And also stories of the fandom, the first books, the first websites, conventions, toys, licensing... all of that stuff. Starting with the original Star Wars Arcade game 1983 by Atari, please!

Hey Thor, You should do a series where people can send you their Star Wars story ideas and then once a month or something you can share one and then people can give their critiques or provide their ideas that would give the story more flavor. Maybe you could also hold polls to see which story ideas are most popular and keep a running list throughout the year or something to see which story ends up being the best. For example: The sequels should've been about Leia trying to restore the galactic senate, trying to convince systems to return, you could include negotiations and conflict. Han is helping lead the New Republic forces against the remnants of the empire and other groups such as the huts or pikes that have tried to seize control of various parts of the galaxy. Then Luke Skywalker is trying to train up a new generation of Jedi while trying to help both Leia and Han. Luke, Han, and Leia's stories would all overlap obviously but there would be plenty of room within this framework for exciting and interesting stories all leading towards the goal of unity, peace, and order being restored to the galaxy. You could even make the Mandolorians a major player trying to seize control of a major portion of the galaxy reviving a healthy rivalry between the Mandolorians and the Jedi/Republic. Anyway, I would love to hear others ideas, how they would fit into this or just their own narrative structure that could be added to.

Stagnation is also because LucasFilm hasn’t produced content that is not a prequel of something for 5 years now. The sequels were perfect for speculative discussions, anything was possible. Lucasfilm should move forward beyond Episode 9 or take stories into Old Republic eras where anything is possible.

RotJ should just have been left as the bookend - the last film in the galaxy's story, leaving what came after to imagination (e.g. the EU). At this point, if they do anything, I still hope they go back in time, but I hold little hope of them doing any of it well. I mean, it's not just Disney - there is very little quality content being made out there nowadays, least of all space opera/space based sci fi or fantasy.

Idk bout you but the Patterson and Pentex cuts of the Disney shows have been great to watch. People aren’t making fan versions of the Disney movies because 1. It’s harder to cut or edit long plot portions that are bad and 2. No one wants to. I don’t like writing this but I think our time has passed. These recent years we have only been getting a few good scraps like Andor and the respawn games, we still have no info about future projects, and the big wigs in charge are not leaving anytime soon. I guess now I’m fine saying things like “I *was* a fan”. The sooner you move on the better you will feel

While the negative reactions to Disney Star Wars has been entertaining, I do agree and wish we could focus more on the Fan Fiction realm. That being said, I have written and produced by own SW fan fiction but have also lost motivation in the past 2 years after witnessing all the terrible Disney content. It's a strange time to be a Star Wars fan.

Not as a personal attack to you specifically. YES, Star Wars is OLD NEWS. It's completely irredeemable with how badly mismanaged the IP has been handled. At this point there is only 2 reaction with ZERO MIDDLE GROUND: "...is terrible" or "...is incredible." Personally I'd recommend to you to move on to something new, something better. Something with an actual future. This IP is completely ruined.

I mean, Andor is good. We got another season coming. Jedi Fallen Order & Jedi Survivor were good. I'm excited for whats next. The old EU/Legends audiobooks are being remastered into unabridged versions with the OG voice actors and they are adding in the star wars music and all sound effects. Its like listening to a movie, theres footsteps, droid sounds, ship & speeder sounds, blaster sounds, lightsaber sounds, background noise etc. The EU Audiobook remasters/remakes are absolutely amazing. We also still got some good books to come out too. And our last hope is The Old Republic. The only legend stuff that disney has kept going and didn't outright decanonize. They haven't really done anything with it yet. But it's always a option for a "fresh start" for star wars.

My advice. Focus on the games. They are still good. Even Outlaws, they say, is not that bad as they make it. You haven't talked much at all about Jedi: Survivor. There's tons of materials in that game which is very long. Also KotOR and KotOR 2. The third Jedi game is also coming in a couple of years. Unfortunately, most of newest SW production has gone down and is not looking like it's going to recover any time soon. Also, expand to other universes, which you have already done to an extent. Your wife and you make such a great team, you don't rely on negativity, click baits and such to attract viewership. I'd listen to you both on any topics whatsoever actually.

I think Ubisoft puts people off. The game will be polished and I think it will be okay. I am waiting for a few patches before buying it myself.

Hey Thor... I can sympathize with redundancy. In my professional life, I'm a professional full-time musician and I've encountered the redundancy - or as I call it - the oversaturation factor before. I had been playing shows as a solo performer for a couple of years that started off great, sustained for a while, then went rock bottom. And when you play 4 or 5 nights a week in and area of less than a million people, you over-saturate. Even though my performances were still good, the act got boring. Even changing up the setlist of songs didn't help... people were just tired of the show. So I put together a full band, and things are going great again, as it's fresh and new on the local scene. It's a constant hustle to stay ahead of the game... good luck to us both! We can do it!

Most of it is redundant, yes. I used to watch a lot of Star Wars content on KZbin, but this is the only channel in the space that I still watch. I feel like your videos resonate with me on a deeper level than "Star Wars content" or just keeping up with SW related news. Imma be honest but this is a reason I un subscribed a while back. And it's not just this channel but they're was a stretch where it was only daisy ridley talk or the Rey movie discussion , to the point I actually thought KZbin kept recommending me the same video over and over it was around this same time KZbin took down ur other channel for "re using" content and I can see why. I used to love this channel but if I'm being %100 honest the repetition in topics have killed it for me personally. And I think that's just a result in covering star wars right now as there's just not a lot of news.

There are a TON of There are a TON of Warhammer 40K channels, but I only really listen to 3 (and the 3rd is actually a team including a guy from one of the others).

Well yeah, but what can you do about it? You can't make good Star Wars shows and movies with interesting characters, events and lore that fans want to comb over and dive into again and again and again. Unless you want to start covering and discussing some of the old content in a way that hasn't been done before.

My main issue is that a lot of Star Wars videos lately are so negative snd critique that it sometimes put me away from watching them fully. And I dont say we cant point out wrongs and suggest changes but I think we could start doing it in a more positive and uplifting way instead of pointing out everything thats wrong with Disney Star Wars over and over again - It gets utterly boring in the end. Cant we just be more Jedi like and less Sith like for a chance? Ouch but yes, although it's not all on you. There's just nothing good to talk about anymore and if there is, we've been down those roads before since were talking Lucas SW not disney. I stopped watching modern movies in 2017 after TLJ so I don't watch many channels like I did before. Just don't care anymore. It's not all on the youtube creators, it's not their fault. It's run its course. All good things... I have all the SW I need and I think we've more or less exhausted talking about it.

Hey Thor, you could always make a 3rd channel that focuses on video games (play throughs, reviews, how a game fits or doesn’t fit within the lore of Star Wars….). Honestly, I’d love whatever you and Naboo decide to do. You gave me much needed catharsis about the Sequels, and I’ve been tuning in ever since. Hey Thor, this is gonna be a heavy comment, but like any star wars/batman fan I've been a huge fan of mark hamill for both his work as Luke Skywalker in the original trilogy and as the Joker in Batman the Animated Series. But in recent years he has gotten too political, which didn't bother me at first, but as time went on I've noticed that he seems aggressive towards people who don't agree with him. What really broke the cammill's back for me was when he was at a panel in Chicago, saying "if your MAGA then you can you force yourself" and mocked a certain running political candidate after he was nearly unalived let's say. At the end of the day it made me lose so much respect for him as a person. No longer do I see him as a nice person who loves his fans, now I see him as a pathetic person who treats you like the enemy of you "vote wrong". Now it's ok for Mark to have his own political beliefs and opinions, but it's gotten to a point where he lets it control his life and now he is just a puppet. The sad reality is he has more in common with the Joker than Luke Skywalker now. Love your vids, keep up the good work man.
