Would it be better if you could place it on top of the RV for when you are parked somewhere to help get a clear signal?

It depends on the particular spot, right now we are parked pretty close to some tall trees so that would interrupt the signal, but in a lot of cases that’s where it will be. Thinking of getting a flag pole type mount for it to get it above lower obstructions

Nice! Starlink has changed our lives. We used to always need to find places with good cellular, just like you, but now we camp where we want. When we travel, we put it back into the box it came in, and it goes under our bed. We also ordered the pole they sell, for like $35, and a ladder mount heavy duty flag pole holder from Amazon. I think that thing was $95. It’s mounted to our ladder when we’re parked.

I have really been enjoying binge watching your channel since I found you guys! I full time and used to do an HDT set up, but not as cool and nice as yours.... I am in a coach now. Is there an email I can reach out to you? I don't do social media rn. Or if you don't want it public, if you go to my about page on youtube I have my email there. I have an offer you may be interested in if you are going to be in Montana! Plus I would love to ask a question or two about some things you have mentioned on your videos. Thank You for the awesome content! God Bless You Two!

Mounted my Starlink on a pole attached to my ladder. Used a chainlink fence top rail pole. Cheap and a top rail to rail connector. Perfect size to put dish on top. Just like it was made for it. Set it about 12” above the roof. Just climb the ladder and slip the dish into the connector and done. Two minute setup at new locations. When we have tree obstructions because of where we have the rv we use the Starlink stand on the ground in an open area.

A aluminum telescopic flag pole from Amazon and the pole adopter from Starlink works well with our Airstream…

Hey guys! Glad to see you went SL! Three pro tips: 1) router can stay in your basement as the wifi is strong! This makes setup and takedown easier! 2) As handy as you guys are, you need to fabricate a telescoping pole mount! I built mine that can attach to our Solitude's rear ladder or can stand in a repurposed tripod. If you don't have time, look up my old friend, Dave, at Flagpole Buddy. He has a packaged solution, but you'll want to source a tripod too. 3) HD Husky Brand container makes a great case for Dishy, stand, and cable. You'll see a few KZbin campers touting it, after copying it from a certain beta tester!

another channel got a 20 Ft. Telescoping Flag Pole from harbor freight to put it on and used a plastic tote and foam to put it in when traveling

Absolutely! It’s definitely not something I expected it to take so much power so I figured it would be helpful to other people. 70 watts doesn’t seem like a lot but something that’s on for 24hrs that’s 1.68kw and we only used about 5-6kw a day before having the starlink. So it’s a significant change to our overall consumption

Star link would be perfect if you could permanently mount it on the roof and not have any restrictions connecting to a satellite. We have DIRECTV Travelers satellite mounted on the roof and I would say about 95% of the time we are connected. I will say that you have to think about where you are going to set up in your site for a clear connection.

I disagree. Full timer of 14 years. I have had the permanent roof mounts on three different rigs. All good until you have to park in an area that has tree cover. Then it was limited tv coverage or worse no signal at all. Thats why tailgaters became to popular. You can move them around or use the mount on the roof. You have options with it being portable. Out west not as big a problem as it is with all the trees in the eastern states. RV parks are notorious for planting trees at campsites for shade. Not so good for roof mount antennas or a tv dish. My Starlink works great here in Wyoming but I took it to Michigan last month and struggled all the time we were there traveling. Lots of tree cover. The whole state is nothing but trees. I have a roof mount for my Starlink that I made but found myself having to use it with the ground stand more times then not to gain a line of sight signal. Sometimes you have no choice where you get to park and having a permanent roof mount only, you will struggle on occasions
