Hello there, been really intrigued with your Xida. What click settings are your dampers running in both stiff and soft videos composition?
@miltonzhang947 Жыл бұрын
I mean it depends, some track conditions and curbs require you to have a softer suspension (more road width to use). But if you have lots of change in direction (Silverstone maggots-becketts, and my track Bedford), a reasonably stiff suspension does help

If you are really understeering a lot and wishes more mid corner rotation, go for ARB
@TrackandBuild Жыл бұрын
that why i said 'as soft as possible' in the video so that you don't sacrifice the esses too much
@miltonzhang947 Жыл бұрын
@@TrackandBuild I'm not sure mate, my way is 'as hard as possible', setting the curb conditions as the limit
@TrackandBuild Жыл бұрын
@@miltonzhang947 I see your point. So there is a range between "as soft as possible so the car does not wallow" and "as hard as possible so the car does not hop". Anywhere within that range is OK to me, depending on one's driving style and track condition like you said. On a bumpy track with only one esses like Sonoma, I think the softer end works better for me.

@@TrackandBuild Yeah, car settings are pretty free if only mechanical grip are considered, can get more difficult of you have aero. I got a vortex rear wing, so I have to work the other way around being as hard as possible so that my rear don't drop too much on throttle (rear drop lose downforce and traction)

What is the light bar on your dash for? (please tell me you managed to get some kind of simple but visible delta setup going)
@TrackandBuild Жыл бұрын
ah that was just my DIY dash to show the throttle/brake. But it turned out I don't use them often. I use AiM SOLO to check the delta.

Hey, enjoyed your gr86 contents! How's Xida overall for track? I am shopping around a set for track. Have my eyes on kw v3 clubsport or xida. I know xida is big in miata world.
@TrackandBuild Жыл бұрын
I think they are good once dialed in. but it may take you some time to dial them in. Also I have only tried the Xida on GR86 so it's hard to say where they stand among many aftermarket choices. I have to try others to have more idea about that.

What other coilovers did you consider? XIDAs are high on my list but they are on the pricier side (especially for a 1-way).
@TrackandBuild Жыл бұрын
I heard good words about shaftworks 1-way and RCE Tarmac 2 2-way. I've ride in other people's Tarmac 2 setup, it's pretty impressive.

@@TrackandBuild .. what are your thoughts tarmac 2 vs xida? Maybe your next video :) Right now I am considering tarmac 2 ($2.2k) or ohlins ($2.2k) or xida ($4K) P.S - really enjoy the content on your channel
@TrackandBuild Жыл бұрын
@@i-barg it's only fair to say after I have used both myself. One thing is that Xida comes with top hats both front and rear with coaxial bearings and the front end link so the price gap is smaller than that.
@i-barg Жыл бұрын
@@TrackandBuild Yes - all good points! Either way to very interested to learning more about your experience with the XIDA
@i-barg Жыл бұрын
@@TrackandBuild I forgot to ask - how's the daily driving on the XIDAs? (assuming 500/500 springs) Is the NVH to load with their top hats?

Was there a noticeable difference in lap times?
@TrackandBuild Жыл бұрын
I don't have an apple to apple comparison under the same conditions. Also I wouldn't think my lap times are ground truth. But it's pretty obvious that in the softer setting car settles much better in mid-corners and it gives me much more confidence to push.

It could be me helping you balance the car!

definitely kicking you out in the middle of a lap for A/B test next time.
