Times have changed a bit but the stigma that stock suspension sucks is still strong. In the early 2000's to 2015 or so most stock stuff was way to stiff. Some brands then went to soft especially KTM but now a lot of bikes are good out of the box for the average rider if they are in the weight range of the stock springs. Most people spend $$ on a pipe and graphics before suspension then still complain.

hey aj, i hear the new 25 kawi kx250 is soft. i only weigh 150 with gear on. would you recommend i get anything done?

Stock Yamaha suspension is really good until you ride a track with big braking bumps and g outs
