Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, and HBO are the most popular in a whirlwind of streaming platforms. New platforms are made every year and with each new year the numbers of customers and users grow. Great art has been made through streaming platforms and in a lot of ways given many small independent filmmakers a venue for making there films. Stranger things, Roma, The Irishman are all films and shows that would never of happened with out the help of Netflix. That being said, there are definitely downfalls as well. Movie theaters have been simultaneously dying more and more each year since the creation of streaming platforms and since 2020 hit, movie theaters are hardly even legal to operate. Death doode.
In this episode we talk about streaming and how it relates to technology. Is it good? Is it bad? Are we being overstimulated by the easy access to everything that technology allows? Are streaming platforms and internet platforms in general exploiting the technology? We talk about all this and more in this first part of our technology discussion on TOTALLY NOT A PODCAST.
