Ive driven diesels since my early 20s and next year Im 60 years old Ive never had any issues with supermarket fuels causing engne running issues, maintain your vechicle properly regular oil changes half of the manufacturers recomended milage for oil changes usually every 5 thousand miles and change your fuel filter every year and you should be fine, I was once advised not to use Morrisons diesel as it has a lot of water in it and I have seen how much water was extracted from one vechicles fuel tank from persistant use of Morrisons diesel over a 12 month period it was about 2 litres of water.

@@oojimmyflip that's interesting, so similar to myself with Sainsbury's having bad fuel. I always service my cars regularly like you say.

You need to use Liquimoly Diesel Additive and/or injector cleaner. I had a very similar issue on my car. Been using both the additive and cleaner in rotation roughly 2-3k km. For me it’s a must now, and i was amazed how quick it worked too.

There’s no benefit to running a higher octane or premium fuel unless your vehicle requires it. It doesn’t improve power or fuel efficiency. However, the cleaning agents added to gas by Shell, Chevron, & Mobil (USA West Coast) is very good for your vehicle & recommended over cheap stations.

Yeah, glad you clarified the higher octane part. It seems like he's conflating "top tier" gas such as the ones you mentioned, with just higher octane fuel regardless of the brand at one point in the video, but I could be wrong.

@@drivehard the agents definitely help as you say but the higher fuels do improve fuel efficiency. If seen this first hand and noticed multiple vans run better. They stop hunting on the revs. Also a few people have done tests online with multiple people involved and they reported higher mpg results.

@@willsvanadventures Ive never seen any benefits in higher milage from advanced fuels in fact they seem to give lousey milage in comparison and the fuel just burns quicker. might as well just add somne diesel redex yourself to slightly raise the octane levels before you fill up with supernarket fuel. if you still believe that is.

@oojimmyflip yeah I agree the fuel additive stuff is good to use especially in an older vehicle that hasn't been serviced in a long time. Strange that you've seen worse performance, I've always seen mpg improve when flushing it through with a branded tank
@RossCanpolat10 сағат бұрын
The underground fuel tank could be compromised, could have water or another impurity ingressed into the tank causing your lumpy performance.

Yh that's true, would be interesting to find out what it was

What a load of miss information. Use only the RON number of fuel called for by the manual - going lower is bad, but going higher wastes money. Branded Fuels typically do have more detergents in them which possibly will reduce carbon build up in the very long term. If your car is over 10-15 years old, double check it can use E10 petrol (thats the ethanol rating) if it cant, stick to E5 which will mean using higher octane fuel.

@@johnathankain8033 thanks for the information, the branded fuel with the higher additives, are better, produce higher mpg, and look after your engine better regardless of age. They aren't a waste of money.
