As black Jamaican man, who grew up in London/UK. I have been living in thailand 🇹🇭 for 17 years now. i was a English teacher for 3.5 years in bkk back in 2009.. the only way i could get a job as a teacher was substituting a teach while they went on a visa run, then with my skills and my connection with the children and teachers they automatically wanted me as their English teacher.. Those were the best days of my life if im honest.😂

That’s so heartwarming to hear! 🥹 🙌🏾🇯🇲 I love that you had that experience, 2009 wow were you the first Black teacher they had? I came in 2011 for the first time and both kids and teachers acted like they’d never seen a black person in real life 😄

This was a great video! I've been teaching English here in Bangkok and I think it's a great way to be immersed in Thai culture. You're spot on with the work-life balance. So many free periods and paid Thai public holidays! New subscriber!

Great information and delivery. Do you speak Thai? How difficult would it be if you don't speak any Thai.

@@stevenwilliams8705 Thank you so much 🙏🏾✨ I can speak quite a bit of Thai but I feel like I plateaued in my learning a few years ago. If you live in Bangkok you can definitely survive without knowing any but it would be better if you know ‘nid noi’ (a little bit) 😊
