I want to be really excited about this beatdown, but Texas-OU is such a weird game, we have seen a Case McCoy led team beat a really good OU team, all bets are off for RRR
@brettmcculloch5342Ай бұрын
I listened to some OU reactions Saturday night and Sunday (wife is an OU fan). The general beliefs is that their defense is one of, if not the best in the country, and if Hawkins played the whole game then it would have been competitive, maybe not have won it, but very close. Only one mentioned that it seemed like TN laid off in the 2nd half.

OU will play Hawkins the rest of the season. Arnold will transfer. They’ll go through growing highs and lows.

Correct. How does Ketch not see that? Stupefied he keeps saying OU will go back to Arnold???

You guys realize Hawkins weighs 180 pounds? A true freshman qb that weighs 180 pounds protected by a dumpster fire OL that can’t block, who’s going to try to play hero ball behind THAT? If Hawkins survives Auburn intact and starts in Dallas, I don’t see how he doesn’t get carried off the field in a stretcher, perhaps off another “somersault touchdown(tm)”.

First off, nothing Arnold does or does not do this year will dictate what kind of QB he will end up being 3 years from now. OU Insider after the game admitted that all the rumors during the off-season about Ar bold struggling and Hawkins outplaying him consistently were true. They literally said no one reported on it because "the didn't want to create panic in the fan base". Lol. The truth is that you reap what you sow, and when Venables ran Gabriel off because he was afraid of losing Arnold, this is what you get, a kid who wasnt ready to be on the field. Arnold should have backed up Gabriel this season and then started NEXT season. The ONLY way Arnold stays at OU now is if he can win the job back. And I'm not talking about the last game of the year, it would have to be in the next few games. OU is wasting their good defense, almost ALL of those guys graduate and will move on to the NFL after this year. I predict it will be an ugly season next for them too. Before the season I had them 7-5 and that was with Arnold playing decent ! I am sticking with that 7-5 but next year I think it's 7-5/8-4 as well. Things will really heat up next year for Venables.

@@refractorhead Colt beat the crap out of Ohio State his junior year, and 3-1 vs OU
@budbundy4014Ай бұрын
@@refractorhead colt left as the winningest college football qb of all time. Also the most accurate of all time with a record 76.7% completion rate in 2008 and over 70% for his career. Also was 3-1 vs ou. Put one of the bhggest whooping’s on A&M by Texas ever. Also set records in the fiesta bowl vs Ohio state where he was the mvp. He won double digit games all 4 years. Also he did this without a team as good as this years longhorns. You would know this if you were a lifelong Longhorn fan you would know this. I bet you just started liking Texas once Quinn hit in the cover of the video game.

I am not trying to trash ewers, I am a big fan of his. He has helped this program get back into national prominence. But to say he is better then colt is laughable. I’m still waiting on Quinn to win a bowl game. Or just completely take over a game the way that Vince, colt, major, James brown, or Sam ehlinger have.
