Hmmm….I seem to recall hearing how Unifi sucks on some of my live streams. Haha! 😂Welcome to the world of Unifi Jason. Been using deploying Unifi networks for years in residential & small business settings. It’s been rock solid. Haven’t had any callbacks or device failures. In the last two years, I also started deploying Grandstream as you well know. But in most cases, for simplicity sake and ease of management, Unifi has been my go to.

i find grandstream easier and way cheaper, both have near close features now too though !

After the poor customer service and them playing the time game until the warranty was up and then refusing my RMA for a clearly defective UDMP I sold ALL my unifi gear on ebay and got rid of everything Unifi with the exception of the UAP-AC-Pro's. When my tech refresh comes around I may go wifi 6 or wifi 7 but the sooner I was my hands of Ubiquiti in their entirety the better. Never in all my days have I had such p**s-poor customer service from such a big company with the single exception of Dell.

It's a reformed Jason. I'm still using my unifi stuff, with the exception being my old USG that died was replaced with an OPNSense box.

Now that Untangle is no longer offering home licenses, what would you recommend as an alternative?

Adguard home & a good Router. Opnsense has a UTM feature that is free for home use, better then untangle too ! Sophos XG home is also free too!

I have never used one of them but I have heard that most unifi routers have trouble with multigig internet speeds they seem to max out at 1.5-2gbps due to the low end processor they use on them.

I will be testing that soon, however Cody has a 3gig connection on Bell and he's above 2gbps.. Think he has a UDM pro too.
