I've never owned a performance vehicle in my life. I always enjoyed going on Ford's website and customizing a Mustang. I always found myself opting for the performance pack with magneride option thinking it was a MUST HAVE. After renting a 2018 GT Convertible non performance pack, I realized that was plenty fun and stylish for my needs considering I will never track the car myself. I never thought I would, but I fell in love with the convertible. Also a nice borla exhaust doesn't hurt either.

There is a stang for everyone. Boulevard cruiser (GT and EB Verts), canyon carver (GT350, PP1, EB HPP, Mach 1), track rat (GT350, Mach 1), drag (GT500), autox (EB HPP, GT PP1, PP2, Mach 1), long distance cruising (base GT, EB). Personally, the GT PP1 hits my sweet spot - I use mine to drive to work, mountain roads when I get a chance and the occasional autocross. If I tracked more I'd swing for the Mach 1 for the better cooling.

Totally sold on the 2021 460 HP GT/CS Convertible (comes standard w/"Active Valve Performance Exhaust System" and totally Loud enough for me) over the more expensive 6k Performance Pkg (unless you're into street racing), Shadow Black exterior, Bang & Olufson 12 speaker S/S, signature "Hockey Stick" Mustang Side Scoops, and more importantly, the GT/CS Side Strip looks so much better when matched with 20" Chrome Wheels (e.g. Giovanna Dalar-5) over 19" Black wheels. To keep the stock 19" black alum wheels and tires from looking too small for the large wheel wells, I've fixed that by adding larger wheels and tires i.e. staggered Michelin PS4 255/40/20 (10" width with wider 4" side walls) for the Front, and for the Rears, Michelin PS4 A/S 305/35/20 (12" width/4.2" width on the side walls). Helps to avoid tires looking too thin for the larger 20" wheels or that "Wagon Wheel" look.

The performance pack is a better bang for your buck. These are the major features of the performance pack: - 3.55 gears (10 spd auto) or 3.73 (manual) - Torsen differential - Brembo brakes and larger rotors *** the above 3 parts alone are worth getting the PP and would cost the same or more buying them aftermarket along with install (plus no factory warranty if buying those aftermarket parts) *** - MUCH better tires, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, also wider and grippier) - wider rims (needed for wider tires), even if you don't like the look of them they sell for more money privately vs Cal Special or any other oem Mustang wheel. - larger radiator for improved temps - larger front splitter and rear spoiler - numerous suspension upgrades from springs, struts, shocks, control arms etc (if you look at the Ford parts list many components are unique to the PP). - cool center dash gauges (passengers love them for some reason lol) and unique TC and stability control tuning, good for track days. - better resale since the blue book adds increase value to the car (not to mention it helps sell the car if you ever decide to sell your Mustang). That should leave little doubt the PP is worth the price. With the employee pricing event I got almost $1000 off just on the PP option).

JOE ~ the Mustang is a horse the Native Americans (north & south) held in great respect as the horse that could kill all other horses, there would literally be blood & guts everywhere as the Mustangs went from tribe to tribe wiping out entire populations & murdering all horses that stood in their way. it is written down by the Cherokee - when we see the enemy we laugh for our warriors are giant & crush all who oppose the Cherokee people, but if we see the enemy riding to us for war on Mustang's we slit our wrists & die an honorable forfeit death - for no human or horse can beat the Mustang - true story, sad but true. lol. - tony

C’mon man… anyone who thinks a grille with a moved icon, for $800 more than the original grille, is a “good buy” needs to re-examine his priorities. The best Mustang convertible deal, hands-down, is the Ecoboost Premium package with no other frills. 310hp is more than enough to allow you to merge onto any highway, and it has every other convenience you could want. If the car will routinely have multiple drivers add on the bit with the seat/mirror memory.

The 10 speed is great, kinda nervous with a hair trigger, and gone. This car is very fast. Big difference from the 15 with the six speed auto. Cornering is way better as well. The Michelins ace the P-zero's. If you track your car then yes get the selectable drive modes for 2000 more. A lot of people like the magne-ride as well, I cannot comment as I have not driven one. JJ ~ tony macaroni here with hard hitting personal views on the Mustang car - every new model upgrade FORD just makes them tighter, stronger, with more power, punch & much improved suspensions, over the years the different makes offer more goodies for the buck than the one before, it's evolution in a grand scale - BUTT . . . why can't FORD make radical changes to the body & interior? maybe it's time to step outside of the comfort zone & create an ALL NEW from the ground up Mustang variant with 22nd century slickness & sickness. I see a Mustang & I know what's inside & how juicy it is, but even after all that I'm still just looking at another Mustang. my dream is to look to my right & see a car that's beyond description & has the precise handling, braking, features, interior & body work that makes a person slip into a deep 3 minute coma because the shock gave them a stroke. why can't or why won't FORD build that Mustang the full chimichanga? - tony

Most people want the Mustang to reflect the original styling clues, that is why it is the best selling Sports car in the world! And the last quarter it out sold the Camaro and Dodge COMBINED. Ford will thankfully not kill their Golder Goose.
@johnrussell60264 жыл бұрын
The GT/CS had the upscale middle age woman as the target buyer for the GT/CS. One of the sales blurbs stated the seat were designed for women by women. You are missing the whole point of the GT/CS....most drivers are 45 years old and up women that can easily afford one. My wife bought hers last year. They are the luxury Mustang GT and a super nice long driving trip GT car. She retired her all original 5 speed Stealth R/T and was shopping MB and BMW until she drove the Mustang. They do not do a PP package because women don't want the low profile tires and stiffer ride. Hers has every single option available on the car, every one! Many that most men don't want. She wanted thousands in comfort/safety/audio options. I would have spent the money like most men on the PP1 and shocks. Her dash is the programmable and her gauges are Lavender with light Magenta red line. It stays in the Sport + mode since purchased with a nice rumble in the switchable exhaust and shift point changed for performance. The B&O CD sound system is awesome with like 1000 watts and a nicely built in Sub. As to the performance a stock GT 10 Speed on the same all seasons tires as hers did a 3.99 0-60 and 11.99 quarter on KZbin, again ALL STOCK. That puts to shame most so called Muscle cars we could not afford in our high School years. She will probably add the Ford Performance "Bullitt" engine upgrade to 480 HP. $1000 and my son can do the install and will be warranty approved. Her GT/CS sticks like glue in high speed driving, I know I pushed it hard on mountain roads. I know handling, I drive a Fiesta ST Mountune that is a real road carver and I see nothing but her tail lights on curvy roads like the Tail Of The Dragon. Many women have looked at her Kona Blue and drooled, even a 19 year old named after her dad's Mustang.......Shelby! So keep in mind this is a woman's (not girls) car. And my wife has never had a car that made her happier, which makes me happy because I can go play with it and am not paying for it.

Joe, on the convertible... the little disk antenna is just for Sirius satellite radio. So you if can't put the am/fm antenna in rear window, you need the old style stick.

I like the look of the California Special. Can you get the performance pack with the California Special??? I would like a CS with a 6 speed and 373 gears.

Raiti's, are you sure the splitter on the California Special has the same size as the PP1? I have the 2019 CS fast back and I don't have the front license plate mounted on it. But CJ pony parts offer a mounting mount that you don't have to drill holes in the car, and it's removable buy just pulling a pin and taking the plate off for like car shows. But the with the width of the splitter would be a different part number. Also in 2019 the rear end only had the stock of 315 gears and the 355 option @ $460.00 extra with the the 10 speed automatic. So did the change those options for the rear for 2020? Thanks in advance!

Joe, 3.73 Torsen gearing is on the manual PP1 only, the automatic gets a 3.55 Torsen type differential.

Why do some mustangs have a shark fin design radio antenna on the roof and others just have a small circle?
