I just got my Altima SL, bought it the main reason being pro pilot assist. The day I got to know about it, I had a feeling it would be an awesome feature and sure enough it is. Various other cars offering lane keep assist would usually ping-pong but this doesn't and keeps you centered strongly. Now I am addicted to it. Its like a rewarding system when the pro pilot kicks in and takes up the driving on your behalf :) Also the complete stop and hold while in cruise is such an awesome feature in slow moving traffic. It won't even ask you to hold the wheel if the speed is less than 10 miles an hour and pro pilot is active. I downgraded from a 2017 Nissan Maxima and I am happy about it. Don't care much about V6 power(not racing) or CVT issues. This thing drives smooth and floats literally. This is such a fun car at an affordable price. Should be the number 1 in its kind. The redesign done in 2019 is seriously a great one as it looks so sleek inside and out. Now I am all the time super excited to head out. Its a true bang for your buck. It's rather obvious that numerous individuals that have posted here know very little about CVT's ,,, today's CVT's are considerably improved over earlier CVT's. My new vehicle is a Nissan Altima Platinum in beautiful Sunset Drift metallic paint the vehicle is absolutely loaded. The 2.5 engine coupled with the CVT ( which is so smooth ) gives me all the power I would ever need for the type of driving I do and has AWD. I certainly did some shopping around before I bought, here's the facts ,, 2020 Honda Accord, not even close when it came to features was over $ 8000.00 more expensive ( you sure can buy a hell of a lot of gas for $ 8000.00 ). 2020 Toyota Prius, not even remotely close ,, 1.8 engine with a CVT and a fraction of the high end features I have in my new Altima ,, the Prius was priced ( overpriced ) at $ 3186.00 more than my loaded Altima which came by the way with a full set of Firestone winter tires on sharp looking alloys.

My 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 (same engine as this one) has the same old key fob. The wheels just make this unit look budget. Nissan needs to use the larger wheel/tire setup across the board - not just on the upper trim levels. The factory alloys on my '12 look far better. It's also screaming out for led brake lights and/or rear turn signals. In truth, they should have made hp gradations of the VC turbo standard on all models offering at least 205 hp in the base model. They need something special to really nip at the heals of the kings-- Camry and Accord. Those guys are the kings for defintive reasons.

Ghosn is being prosecuted by Nissan.

Nissan already has a 2.0 L turbo-charged engine which they use in the Infiniti lineup and also sell to Mercedes-Benz for use in the GLA compact SUV. This engine makes around 208 hp. Why not just stuff it in the Altima along with a 7-speed auto? Why spend $$$$ to develop a new engine and then couple it to a CVT when you already have parts sitting on the shelf? Question. I am looking at a 2020 Altima Platinum which has 19 inch wheels. My issue is I will be on the highway 90 percent of the time and am worried about road and tire noise since they look low profile to me. What is your opinion on asking Nissan Dealer to put on 18 inch rims? Would that make much difference? Would it kill the look of the car?
@RaitisRides5 жыл бұрын
You would get a little more comfortable ride. I don't think it will kill the look but may change it.

I'm thinking that being an AWD vehicle is why it has 17" wheels with a bit larger sidewall.
@occckid1235 жыл бұрын
No it's just the trim level. You can get larger wheels in the sr or platinum

I agree. it's a damn key fob, who cares as long as it does what it is supposed to do. I think complaining about it is ridiculous just like people keep complaining about the CVT. I have over 90,000 miles on my Altima SV with no issues at all. AlI I did was have the fluid changed.
@NoName-gv6nm5 жыл бұрын
@@morbid1 I got a 2015 altima, then saw all the complaints online and thought I made a huge mistake. I wanted a camry, but the altima was like $7k less... 5 years later, I dont understand the complaints. It's a great car. No issues and I get 600 miles every fill up. The cvt is awesome actually.
@morbid15 жыл бұрын
Hi Googly! I don’t get the complaints either? Mine has been superb. I have driven the hell out of it from Tx to Ga. a lot! I plan on trying to get a new Maxima SL next year . Every Nissan I have had has lasted years with no issues .
@ibrahims.h.44034 жыл бұрын
@@morbid1 Agreed, Im about to get my 4th altima soon. never had CVT issues. to be honest, never had any issues. I actually scared first and bought an extended warranty but never used it. wasted $2k... people pay $7k more to have a regular transmission. lol. CVT saves you on gas, plus even if it gets broken, the new CVT is about $3k. lol it sounds soooo stupid to pay $7k extra because a CVT may be broken and not repairable. :) and the key fob; that is the best possible key fob. it is useful and sleek. Perfect design... Also, the car is keyless. why you worry about the shape of something is in your pocket all the time? if you want to show off, get a t-shirt saying I got a brand new car because putting your car key on the table is the same thing.

I want Nissan to collaborate with Audi and use the 3.0L turbo (TFSI) V6 from the S5 and make the RS trim for this setup. Nissan should also make the V-Spec trim level (highest trim level) which should be powered by Audi 2.9L twin turbo V6 (444 HP) from the RS5, interior should be like European design (like Audi's) and replace the CVT with the ZF 8 speed auto, along with quattro AWD (it should be RWD biased). And one more thing, bring back the coupe and possibly they should introduce a sport wagon of Altima. Loved the overrall review and the car!
