For all of those complaining about the Trailblazer and Blazer names, I read a Car and Driver article not too long ago and GMC is supposedly working on an off-road focus SUV to be named the Jimmy. I think it’s important to note that the off-road community is a niche market and Chevy - being a brand for the people - is marketing this car and the Blazer to be everyday cars, because if we’re being honest, not that many people take their vehicles off-road. GM is going to let GMC - the truck brand - lead the way in the off-road SUV segment for GM.

I see ppl zonking the engine, I mean, it’s the size of a compact car, almost the same as the now gone Chevy Cruze - which had a 153 HP motor too, and the torque is awesome if you treat it well! As a city slicker, I just need FWD and can get winter tires for the Canadian winters. Personally, I’m excited for this car! I’m looking to replace a Cruze hatch so, I think I would take this over it’s sister, the Buick Encore GX, depending of course on a couple test drives 😁 - compared to the Trax, this has a lot more interior room... but the 2021 Equinox will be out along with this. Too many options!

While initially redundant I actually think this vehicle is very good idea for Chevy. The Trax has proven to be the mistake or the zonk, if you will. It is too small (and ugly) and has delivered very disappointing sales as a result. I wouldn’t be surprised if they begin to phase the Trax out over the next few years making the Trail Blazer their entry level suv. True off road ability is overrated. Keep in mind that the original Trail Blazer wasn’t really off road capable either. I’m sure this will handle gravel and packed dirt roads just fine which the extent of what 95 percent of urban and suburban drivers will do as far as off roading is concerned.

Hi Joe, Another interesting video. Chevy is showing great cars. This new model and smart compact crossover SUV car. Umm.. maybe it will give a surprise for the chevy fans. I love the car. Like you say The front of the car looks like small camaro., very sporty style design and good finished in all the body car. At interior on the dash, I liked, very looking good. Even it looks very compact, but the interior is comfortable, nice panoramic roof from first seats and 2nd row seats. I think has everything that a person or passengers need, it worth it to buy. I could say that the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer RS is a GREAT compact SUV. Thank you for the video Joe.

GMC is supposedly working on a 2022 Jimmy based on the Colorado/Canyon platform though. Seems GMC has their shit together and is only being limited by GM's budget, since GM will always pour more money into Chevy for some god awful reason.

I loved my 2002 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ. It was an all around great SUV with off road durability. I put 120 K miles on it and wish I would have never traded it in. I had high hopes this Trailblazer would replace it. Not even close!!

Increase the size & weight but leave the powertrain as the same as the Trax. That may work for the Jeep Renegade & Compass but it doesn't work here. Borrowing a name from the past that the vehicle can't live up to. Today's GM is starting to remind me of the one that failed in the economic marketplace and had to file bankruptcy. Similar bad choices were made then too. The only difference is atleast the styling isn't as bad as before. This does look better than the trax. I say buy a Seltos, Kona, HRV, or CX-3.

I just bought a new Chevy Trailblazer and found some design flaws that I'm not happy with. First, there's an opening or gap between the doors and the rocker panels that allow road debris to come from the front tires and build up inside behind the door. After finding this out, I bought a set of Chevy mud flaps thinking this would help only to find out they're useless due to their size and don't help at all. My thought was that Chevy should have installed door gaskets around the outer area so that it would stop this from happening. I've contacted Chevy and they basically said there's nothing we can do, go back to where you bought it and see if the dealer can do something...yea right! I found the Blazer to be underpowered and noisy on the road so much you have to turn up the radio to hear it. I've owned Chevy's my whole life and this one, is going to a Toyota dealer for a trade on a new Toyota Rav ...

This vehicle was clearly designed as a volume vehicle. There is a major increase in the compact SUV segment as small non electric sedans fall off. Pretty safe to say that GM will likely sell a crap load of these guys. A lot more than if it were trying to pay homage by going to the old body on style.

Joe, i think CVT is a bad idea for engine choice on the trailblazer.....a strong 2.0, 4cyl with a 6spd automatic transmission could have make a deal. CVTS are a no no for many customers, including me... The Mazda cx30 will sell better than Chevy's CVT junk trailblazer.... I am getting the cx30 Mazda...

As always, great video. I'm with you on the zonk on the whole car. Chevrolet should have invested the money into just a Blazer Sport or Blazer Special Edition instead of the Trailblazer. I was never a fan of the Trailblazer and really didn't like the new bubble looking blazer's; however, I'm loving the new "Blazer". I'm with Lori - Raptor all the way :-)))

I’d take this over the Encore Gx. A couple of corrections- it’s a 9 speed automatic on the awd models. Which is the model I would shoot for since a CVT is just garbage depending on what company is providing it. I do really like this little car though.

And how should it sound? There is air space between the cheap plastic black mate panel and the door itself. Reason is if you rub up against something the cheap plastic panel gives so as not to damage the bottom of the door. These panels are only held on by way of clips thus the cheap sound but much better than 2 sided tape or being glued on. Much easier to replace than them being glued or help on with 2 sided tape that someone has to deal with removing the glue or adhesive. Thanks
