Did have an erratic shifting issue when it was newer that the dealer did a software update to fix while I waited for an oil change, but definitely doubt it will be unreliable for people who actually know how to maintain their cars/transmissions properly.

The Chevy Equinox LT has a more decent sized infotainment system screen than what the GMC Terrain has, but at least there's an option for that on the LT trim level of the Equinox. Why the 2.0T engine was discontinued on the Chevy Equinox and the GMC Terrain is that most people sticked with the 1.5T engine more because they don't wanna spend a fortune on a compact SUV that has a hundred more horsepower. Of course if you reach the top of the mountain at the Denali trim level of the GMC Terrain, you get ventilated seats, heated seats, heated rear seats (would've been really nice to have ventilated seats for the rear passengers on a Denali), heated steering wheel, electric assist and power lumbar for the passenger and the driver, and available hands-free liftgate.

(I worked for Chevy for a short time recently and the Certified Used lot was full of SUVs and trucks with faded black plastic trim, on 2 & 3 yr models.) Equinox is the only model without flat black plastic around wheels in the segment, and even larger. Lincoln and Caddy are the only other ones that don't (upper trims). Looking at this for my second vehicle, as I had a 2013 Ford Escape 2.0L but the engine went on it. I like the GMC Terrain better, it’s bigger in the back seats, love the features like apple car play, smooth ride .

Took a gamble with my wife's 2018 GMC Terrain which is our first American car ever, it's been surprisingly problem-free despite her and I being lead foots. Would consider another one if GM hadn't dropped the 2.0T engine option that she has currently.

Yup that’s what attracted the wife and I to lease a one in 2017. It looked truck like and in black when washed with the chrome looked awesome! In 2020 we didn’t lease the new one lol @GhostPhantasm

American quality is not the best in the World, I think it´s better to buy a Japanese brand.

@@alengreen589 My wife drives an '18 Terrain which was our first American car ever, has been problem-free despite both of our lead feet. I tend to stick with Japanese too but her car has taken away some of my bias. We'll likely trade for another American vehicle since she likes the Ford Bronco Sport.

Looks beautiful. I’m a little skittish about HP. Is 170 too slow in average driving conditions?
@danielmeador19912 жыл бұрын
Yes
@1515cci2 жыл бұрын
No it's not slow in average driving conditions. Having driven one, it's gets the job done. Even before the turbo kicks in and especially when it does, you have more than enough power on regular streets and on highways.

If that says 2.45 a gallon, that is cheap compared to up here in Canada. It’s currently $1.40 a litre for regular, in BC it’s something like $1.70 a litre.

Was given one as a loaner for a week by my Subaru dealer (which also sells GMC) and that seat is just too small/short for a long legged person like myself. I'm 6'3" and that seat cushion is so tiny that much of my thigh wasn't supported and I could never get comfortable. That cushion really needs to be longer. You'd think an American car company would have larger seats than most makes. Nope.

Engine is 1.5 turbo ! Do you think it is compatible with the size of this car? especially when you are traveling in a long distance!
@digitaldoc1003 жыл бұрын
The 1.5T is a bore in a vehicle this size. Would be a better fit in the Chevy Trailblazer which is also underpowered.
