Ford has brought back the V8 for the Raptor for 2023. Under the hood of the RAM TRX competitor is a supercharged 5.2L V8 that churns out 700HP & is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. On the outside you will recognize the 18in wheels wrapped with 37in tires. On the inside you get performance seats and magnesium paddles. Is the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R the KING of performance trucks?

Joe, hands down, your reviews are the best, nobody else comes close! The adlibs are priceless - "eargasm" - LOL! Ford pretty much invented this category of street legal offroad truck with the creation of the Raptor. Have to wonder how much longer these uber powerful ICE trucks will be produced. Betting that you won't be able to find one though at anything close to MSRP, dealers will be marking these up to the moon!

Sell the Rideline and use the money to buy an old, low mileage 5.7 Tundra Rock Warrior. Throw on a Magnuson supercharger with a tune and settle for 550hp. $35k or less total.

I’ve driven the Raptor R, and I own a TRX. When you have two trucks producing ridiculous numbers, it really comes down to personal preference. There are so many Raptors out there, and the fact that’s it’s close to impossible to differentiate a Raptor R form the V6 version made the choice clear for me. They are both great trucks, but $150k for a Raptor is outrageous when the TRX exists.

Man! What an amazing super truck. I would gladly park this truck in my garage and take it over the TRX any day of the week. And that exhaust sound is to die for. With where the world is headed, Ford Performance will not be able to make trucks much longer like the Raptor R and will eventually need to switch to electrification. Let’s enjoy it while we can!

This thing makes my "Standard" 2023 Raptor look weak:) The increase in price is basically all engine. I think its like a $30K option when you build on on Ford's website. Yes I know there is a lot more than that but damn. The one thing I still have to zonk Ford for is still having an old style antenna on the front right fender. I replaced mine with something else day one...

Well you have to go back to the early to mid-2000s when Ford had the lightning and Dodge have the 500 horsepower SRT pick up. Then there's a big gap between 2005 and when the first Raptor came out a little after 2010 and that pretty much ended the street trucks and everything became 400 horsepower and up off-road super trucks. I would say if we're going back to the beginning then I would say trucks like 5.9 Grand Cherokee started all this and the GM cyclone. Those are all trucks from the 90's that had some significance in where trucks are now. Also we can't forget the SS Silverado and the Trailblazer and the Jeep Cherokee SRT.

Compared to a Rivian R1T: - Tows 2,800 lbs less - 0.3 secs slower 0-60 - 143 less HP - 300 less ft/lbs torque - 1.5" less ground clearance - 1 degree lower approach and breakover angles - 5 degree lower departure angle - Costs $20-30k more to buy - About 8x more in fuel cost per mile.

Why on the decal is the first R in Raptor colored red, where in the emblems on the hood and tailgate it is the last R colored? I think the last R colored make more sense. Is that a mistake in the decal?

It's intentional, if you look at the other side of the Raptor the last R is colored, but on the opposite side they made the first R colored to match the position even tho it's different location on the individual words on their sides.
