Thank God for Ford's decision to continue to produce the naturally aspirated 8-cylinder engine! I know that many Mustang fans were very concerned about the look of this redesign before it became public. Your review, Joe, I would say allays the fears of most fans. I, for one, really like the look of this including the slim LED headlight lens. Never mind that great color which is unique. Also, I agree with the zonk on that antenna. In this day and age, it looks ridiculous. However, that said, the rest of this cool convertible with that great exhaust note is very appealing to this old man.

The outside is 'ok'... but the interior is a big let down.. that screen will look dated very quickly.. the classic lines are completely gone... replaced with a giant iPad. Normally I wouldn't worry because I can buy a new model when it looks dated... but the days are numbered for performance manual petrol cars... so surely they would want it to look classic...

I think one of the best features of this car is the ability to have the foxbody gauge cluster. That is SO badass.

Great job as always! I love this spec. The 2024 has some carry over from the last gen like the seat controls and the dumb latch for the top. Those things don’t bother me now and that vapor blue is outstanding.

Great review as always. The top handle I guess is to pay homage to the P-51 Mustang and the way they open the canopy, keeping a little history alive with the other heritage parts in the car. Remember when they had GROUND SPEED on the speedometer, I loved this little detail. I guess I am a little old school but I like the antenna same as my 2014.

Great review video, Joe! You do a most excellent job. The space gray interior is perfect with this vapor blue. Love that lighter color option. I think the grill and lower side vents are a bit too big, compared to my ‘18 Mustang GT. I would need to test drive one like this, in person, to really see if how I like or dislike the dual flat screens on the dash…I’m hoping it would grow to like it.

Joe, FYI the strut tower brace was standard on the S550 GT convertible. I suspect it is the same for the S650. I put the top covers on mine when I don’t think it’s going to rain. It cleans up the look.

We have this exact car on order (6 speed though). We were told that the car was started being built last week, then we received the dreaded and infamous supply train issues email yesterday (second one). We ordered this car on March 27th in the first hour the order banks opened. We are really looking forward to this car but I have to say, Ford should really consider vastly improving their communications skills and keep us better informed. Thank you for the video, it gives us some hope!

I think the tablet dashboard should just be an option rather than being the standard dash.. I would much rather have a normal dashboard and maybe just integrate one tablet somewhere in the center. I totally agree about the controls needing to be actual dials as well! Nothing like trying to push a screen button when your hitting bumps in the road and whatnot!

The more manual parts the less that can go wrong, so it's not a zonk lol ... always think long term. Plus that handle on the top is pretty cool! It safer regarding keeping the top in place when up and being driven at higher speeds. The new S650 Mustang GT reviewed has temperature voice command. I don't understand the need to change temperatures to where it's a priority. Set the temp. Set on Automatic. Set the cooled seats in one of three settings snd drive. Want to increase or decrease temperatures in the S650. Use the voice command button on the steering wheel and issue a voice command. The same thing I do for changing channels and volume on my 60 " Samsung TVs. New TVs dropped knobs years ago with the remote replacing the knobs and buttons.

Great job Joe! I've got mixed feelings about it. Having owned several GTs over the years, I have mixed feelings about this newest gen. First off, I would never bother with a GT and a drop top. My last one was an '18 10sp that I bought new. I think, because of that cockpit/dash, I think the S550 will go down as the last opportunity to get a raw Mustang without that dash. Used GT 350 all day long for me.

​@@RaitisRidesIt's because Ford was dropping AM from their radios. Customer complaints were high asking Ford to keep AM. That's why the small antenna. Many AM channels reduce power every evening and window antennas have issues picking up AM signal. The shark fin was designed for satellite and the stronger FM channels. If you notice. You find a similar antenna on the new Bronco. You can stop scratching your head. By the way. If you have questions regarding the S650 Mustang. Talk with Jim Owens, the Mustang Brand Manager.

Was on the fence about the redesign, still am. Bought the wife a new 2023 Mach 1 in JFG last month. Love the Mach 1. I'm sure we will trade for a s650 in 3 or 4 years. I think the S550 looks better on a Mach 1, GT500, GT350. The front of the new car looks better than a standard Mustang front cap, but the back end i don't like. I'm also torn on the dash. I don't think it looks good, but the function you demonstrate looks awesome.

Fun fact Joe; In regards to your comment at 2:25 about the headlights, the 2024 Mustang actually has two different headlight assemblies. If you get the Standard Mustang it will have the 'silver' accenting in the headlights and less black, however, if you opt for the black appearance package you will get blacked out headlights which are 100% black inside. Definitely agree with your zonks regarding the rear though, the antenna and third brake light on the convertible model definitely ruin the design in my eyes. It also doesn't make sense to not have a rear decklid spoiler, unless it has none due to a spoiler ruining the handling with the top down? No clue there, but what I do know is that vapor blue is a beautiful color. Keep up the great work Joe and Lori! (Sorry Lori if I spelled your name wrong!)

2016 camaro 2ss was way ahead of its time with all these performance updates just as in this gt expect the screen and the 30hp . Glad to see all these updates in a mustang gt which was long due .Now I feel it to be the mustang I would want . I just hope it doesnt drive like the previous gen gt.
