Is the 2024 Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 the KING of full size luxury SUVs?

I went back and forth doing test drives and reading reviews of all the higher end SUV's. It was a close call with the Maybach, but I ultimately went with the fully loaded Kia Soul. 12% APR is steep, but the e-z 96 month loan, full tank of gas, and free car washes for a year made it all worthwhile.

Great color that accents the car’s lines. The wheels are very nice. It’s a bargain considering the price of the Bentley and Rolls Royce competitors. It’s for those wealthy people who don’t care about being flashy like the other two SUVs. Nice review as always!

Mercedes is killing it so far in 2023; their sales are up, and they have more profit per car than any other major car company. By keeping going upmarket and making ridiculously expensive, but readily serviced vehicles, they are winning big. the other luxury marks have no repair network, so a wealthy person is going to pick Mercedes a lot of the time for the convenience.

My Uncle was a car dealer in Beverly Hills in the 30s thru 60s. His VIP clients included Katherine Hepburn and Rosalind Russel; they could drive anything they wanted, Rolls, Bentley etc . Hepburn always drove a mid-size Ford Coupe (Hardtop) in a plain brown ; Russel drove a mid-size Oldsmobile, plain brown, These people were Famous, very glamorous and wealthy, and for them, being under the radar was Freedom . . . In the 80s I briefly owned Russel's Immaculate former Lincoln Continental. When I got it I assumed it was a Staff Car, her Assistant's car, because it was plain brown, but the Pink Slip said Rosalind Russel at her Palm Springs address. Then My Uncle told me about her Plain Brown cars and it all made sense.

Disappointing that you did show the deployable running boards/side step. They’re beautifully crafted with the Maybach logo, similarly to the accelerator and brake pedals. And of course, when they deploy, there’s a beautifully smooth delivery for you to get in and out of the vehicle.

No, that would be the 2024 Range Rover SV P615. That said, this looks a lot better for 2024 and it's "my-bach", not "may-bach". The GLS does not have rear wheel steering.

The 580 looks so much better exterior wise. The choices in materials and styling on much of the outside of this thing really cheapen the entire car. Real shame because I really like the style of the 580. I also really hate these wheels. Remind me of a town and country minivan my parents had in 1995.
