FIRST LOOK: The Levorg is getting some changes from Subaru for 2024. On the outside you will discover the LED lighting, sunroof and iconic hood scoop. On the inside you will be greeted by a two-tone interior, 11.6in infotainment screen and digital gauge cluster. Under the hood is a flat-4 mated to a CVT with AWD getting power to the ground. As someone with 2 Outbacks, I completely agree. It was pretty much the only option for a wagon lovers like ourselves. I would have loved to see a hybrid option from Toyota. Camry, Accord, Corolla, even Tercel and Civic wagons used to be common.

So this is actually the new Levorg Layback which is a Levorg with 8 inches of ground clearance. What I really want is a Crosstrek WRX and this Levorg Layback might be a sign that Subaru might just make a Turbo Crosstrek

Subaru Japan needs to clean out the Subaru America leadership. We lose out of so many models, options, and accessories available to the rest of the world. Even our engine/transmissions maintenance schedules are adjusted in the NA region without any physical changes to warrant it. Subaru does fine here, but it could be substantially stronger with better management.

The Levorg doesn't look too much different from the Outback. I guess that is why Subaru doesn't sell it in the States. It does look somewhat better without plastic cladding, but if other Subaru owners are like me and take their Subaru off road where there can be challenges, the extra degree of toughness the cladding offers is appreciated. Initial thought is that the 1.8 turbo engine would be a nice option to have, but the numbers don't seem much different from what their 2.5 liter engine puts out. What Subaru needs for the U.S. markets is a good hybrid drive train.

A couple of years ago in Brampton Ontario, I saw a Subaru Levorg with Ontario license plates on it. I remember seeing the same rally blue one twice, right hand drive. I never saw it again. It was during the summer of 2021.

Hi there Joe. Great video. The new updated ‘Levorg’ looks awesome, especially in that grey. This is called simply WRX GT here in New Zealand. The Levorg name was dumped as it was unpopular and hindered sales. Hope you get it and hope they change that name to WRX GT or Wagon. That aside Levorg spells grovel backwards, so not a good marketing look, lol. Keep up the good work.

As an original 2002 WRX Wagon First adopter and still owner, yes this car, with the right drivetrain would be appealing! It looks similar to an Impreza and a little like a Legacy Wagon? I really care more about the substance of the vehicle than a micro-analysis of styling in videos. 🙏 But I do appreciate the chance to encourage Subaru to bring a WRX ish Wagon or a Spec B Legacy Wagon. I’ve driven a number of current Subaru vehicles lately. Quiet interior is nice, sound systems are inspiring, better mileage is appreciated. Subaru should offer a 200k warranty on CVT’s since they are not repairable and very expensive. I’d want a manual option* I’ve had my engine gone through twice, and just recently a valve issue again at 265k miles. 3x on the transmission. It’s a fun car, and a very practical sports car!

Love the painted look around the wheel wells. Rear roof spoiler and front hood scoop looks awesome ! The wagon give me lots of room for Kiting gear. I would trade my Crosstrek for this wagon. First thing would be dark tint on all windows.

This Levorg is very impressive Joe. And it is SO good in fact that it makes me depressed. You know why? Because I think this is everything that the 2025 Forester SHOULD have been. If you got to see the leaks of the early pics you would see what I'm saying Raiti. So disappointed and the unveil didn't even happen yet!

I had one of the early Subaru wagons. 1980 I think. Great for my surfboards. It was loud and clumsy by today’s standards. 5 speed manual transmission. I could lift the rubber shift boot off the center tunnel and see the road under the car! Lol😂

In some markets it is called “WRX Wagon”, not Levorg or layback. I was just looking at this today. Subaru keeps saying limited money to develop the product. That is BS. The product is developed. It is clear to me that Subaru USA does not want to hurt sales of all the other US made hatchback products. So we get the bloated and expensive Outback or the underpowered and not-tunable (and cvt only) Impreza or Crosstrek or Forester. They are making it really hard for us performance hatch guys to remain Subaru loyal. It’s frustrating but also understandable from a sales perspective.

In Australia, the Levorg is now sold as the "WRX Sportswagon" and comes with the same 2.4L turbo engine as the WRX sedan, and CVT only. We get them with the normal analogue combination meter cluster instead of the digital one, unfortunately.

I'm in the market right now for my next Subaru and am so frustrated that there is not a WRX Wagon!! I've been going back and forth on what to do. If this Levorg was here now I would absolutely pull the trigger on it. I need the rear cargo area / hatch door and this process is just so painful. My Crosstrek is great but just too slow. Please bring the Levorg here!! The Outback for me is nice but too large for my taste. Other than the Outback, there is no other Turbo Hatchback Subaru available today..

I honestly dont blame Americans from moving away from sedans and other cars. My mom has a Camry atm. I cant help but think how annoying it is to get out of. How unnecessarily low to the ground it is. The low roof line that my head hits. I am a athletic 22 year old guy at 5'9 and 150 lbs. I find that thing to be a pain to get out of. Even other sedans my friends have like the Civic or whatever. I do not remotely blame folks for leaving car bodies for the crossover shape. Wagons are really cool. But they suffer the same drawbacks. Just style instead of practicality. If I struggle with it I can o ly imagine the average out of shape American tbh.

Looks gorgeous and the interior colors with a two-tone scheme ( not Tommy Tu-Tone). Surprised on the lack of seat coolers? Digital dash and knobs for volume and channel search...so old it's new again! I'd like to see it...with a name change. WRX Cruiser over Levorg Layback. Might cannibalize some sales from the Forester and Outback. But I think it would welcome here.
