I rented one in Europe over a year ago. Don't know why it can't make it here.

@@billsmith5960 yeah I wonder if they can’t figure out how to get it to market to compete price wise or something. I think I had heard this thing would be $65k. Clearly would be a tough sell when you can get a model Y for $39k (obviously a smaller vehicle). But Kia EV9 can be had for $50k, etc

@@chags3512 - I agree. It’s already in the EU and works fine. So it’s not the engineering that’s holding it up. I’m afraid it might be like the Eurovan. Overpriced for the market here in the US. Thus sales were bad and thus they pulled it from the US. It’s almost like they hope to build excitement for it and think people will not care what the cost is.

@@billsmith5960 yeah. People will buy other things if they don’t release it soon. I think people will pay $60k for this thing but if they don’t release it soon, that hype will die down and then they won’t pay $60k for it.

They absolutely HAD to have that stupid triangle window on the front windshield... The pillion blocks the driver's view... But if they moved the windshield back and got rid of the stupid triangle, it would just look like a giant kia soul.

I just don't understand why it's taking so long to get here. I rented one in Europe over a year ago and loved it. I seen plenty of them on the road and many as cargo vans. Yet for the US, just bringing it here seems to be really hard. I just wonder what the hangup is? Please don;t tell me it's because the US version is a LWB as they already have that in Europe. I'm thinking it's because they are a bit afraid of the pricing structure as it will scare many people away then be like when the Eurovan was around and those sat on the lot for a long time as they were overpriced. Last year was 2003 yet many sat on the lot until 2005. Yes, I have a 1968 Bus and a 2003 Eurovan. I am not living in the past when it comes to pricing but VW needs to just finalize this and stop showing it but get it with full specs, pricing and let people test drive them. If not, this will be another dud.

I believe that manufacturing capacity was the limiting factor... they had high demand in Europe and could sell every unit they could squeeze out of the factory, so why press to double demand when their build capacity would remain even.

Unless manufacturers make evs under 30k the segment is doomed. Especially with trump having made them political.
