Sounds like the French Polish might be easier and safer! I noticed in many videos you have your cabinet doors open in the background. Is that because you are getting glare from the studio lights? Stay safe during these crazy times!

Good observation David. That is the reason why they are open.

Idk, I think a french polish might be nice for that guitar. I think that wood would be very nice with a satin finish.

The french polish will end up a gloss but not as high as spraying it.

I like to do French Polish. Less problems with FP
@kwaktak4 жыл бұрын
@@MontyMcKinnon it's easily repairable too but also much more time intensive. I did FP on my first and while it was tricky at first (you have to limit the amount of strokes before applying more shellac to your pad) it's a process that you can easily get lost in. Here's how it looked early on in the process: live.staticflickr.com/4418/37140081571_22b0c65cd2_c_d.jpg live.staticflickr.com/4338/37140080691_3e53637e7d_c_d.jpg

It is looking good Monty, Do you have have a special booth for spraying with Nitro-cellulose as it is toxic and companies like Fender have to have special booths to spray guitars with it.
@MontyMcKinnon4 жыл бұрын
No booth and that concerns me. I would spray in the garage in the summer.

Are you using threaded inserts in a butt joint to attach the neck? What are your thoughts on mortise/tenon joints?
@MontyMcKinnon4 жыл бұрын
Yes I am. I like both but the inserts are the easiest and work well.
@kwaktak4 жыл бұрын
@@MontyMcKinnon do you use epoxy to keep them in place? I had trouble with the inserts coming loose.

Thanks for the glue tip, Monty. I tried to support your sponsor, but got this message at checkout: "Coupon code "MCKINNON" is not valid." :-/

Hi Monty, I responded on your tremor episode and then did a second comment about using wrist weights but I didn't get any response that you saw it. I would like to talk with you further but I don't know where to get your e-mail address. It really helps It's not a joke. Also, I found a doctor who has the newest research on ET I would like to share with you. Her name is Dr Sullivan
