It looked better than expected when I saw it in person. The engine performance I can't speak to, but I wouldn't really cost Nissan much of anything to put a better engine in since utilizing said engine in more vehicles only LOWERS it's cost to the company. I'm surprised that they only offer one color inside: black. Why? Because when you visit the website you think you're really going to be able to design it to your tastes and it quickly becomes apparent that you will not be allowed to. Fuel economy, based on the weight, is not really that great. Honda Civics of similar weight do MUCH better. So, not much in the value department in my opinion. The wildest color combo with the orange Nissan charges a STEEP premium for, which is not very nice. However, the power is not really that bad considering many of the drivers I'm behind in the Philadelphia area are barely able to attain 35mph in less than a 1/4 mile. Now, over the long haul, you'll notice a deficit. But, just cruising around town, probably will seem adequate.

Well i wont be surprised the Nismo version will have all four wheel disc brakes system. Plus the same 1.6 turbo engine as the Nismo Sentra and those red trims on the outside and inside and prob slap a few grand extra price tag on top of the SR trim 21k. It might have the same 2 gearbox choices of the 6 speed manual or CVT. But if the guy wants an all rounder with AWD safety. Def the Crosstrek 2.0L is still the better buy. The fully loaded Crosstrek is pricy but def worth every penny.

Bro!! You are killing it!! Outstanding review!! Some protein for Tom 😂😂 😂😂. Hilarious. Tom, thanks for the commitment of giving so great camera work!! As far as the vehicle, I think Nissan created a great option and there is a huge market for this type of vehicles this days. I think the could had given it the engine set up from the nismo sentra just to spice it up a little. Horrible exhaust and drum brakes...2018 really nissan?! But they know exactly what they are doing because the market or the targeted consumers for this vehicle are possible not going to care much about those things. They probably don't even know what those things are. With that being said I definitely think that from a business standpoint they nailed it. Honestly with that mpg and that price, definitely a great option. What's the warranty?
@RaitisRides6 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you are enjoying the jokes! I like to see who is really watching the video all the way through. Tom is the freaking man! The warranty is your standard 3yr/36,000 miles bumper-to-bumper. I have driven cars with 4 wheel disc brakes. Did not really notice th difference. When drivers know their cars, driving and stopping is never a problem. It's no different than the comments I hear about horsepower and acceleration. People will say a certain car is dangerous because of low hp and/or slow acceleration. I owned. 78 hp Corolla for 11 years...never had a problem driving it among more powerful cars on the highway.

The juke was a much better car mechanically, what kind of "utility" vehicle doesn't have AWD? And this thing is sooooo slow cause they didnt even put the 1.6t in it. Most people I've met at car shows as well as coworkers wont get one cause we all want awd here in new England. Of course nissan has fallen far from the fun roots they had.
@RaitisRides6 жыл бұрын
Those are some very good points, and one of the many reasons Subaru is selling so many vehicles.
@tomc88546 жыл бұрын
Not my favorite cars either! I think the HR-V is a much better looking vehicle. Plus if you get a 2018 you can get a manual transmission! It’s gone in 2019. But honestly if I was getting something all wheel drive I would want something you can actually take off road like a Jeep product or the new Bronco when it comes out.
@RaitisRides6 жыл бұрын
For a little more at this price point I would go the Subaru Crosstrek route! It may be slow and still have a CVT but the AWD is amazing in that car! PS I heard from a source that the Bronco is not going to be that off-road capable. I'm still waiting on the damn Ford Ranger to get here so that I can do a review on it!
@tomc88546 жыл бұрын
Raiti's Rides Yeah, that would be a better way to go , forgot about the crosstrek. It would be a shame if the new bronco isn’t off road worthy. I saw Chevy is coming out with a lame blazer . Ford should do the opposite, Bronco Raptor!

Nice Pumas Joe. Before you start your reviews, do you do burnouts in the water box first? lol So with drum brakes I guess Nissan is paying tribute to their roots? Somehow a Datsun by any other name is still a Datsun. 😂 Save the Wave and use those Pumas to wave and run away from this one.
@RaitisRides6 жыл бұрын
Peter Carey OMG, you are freaking hilarious. This Nissan Kicks you would need the water box and a ton of soap to get the tires spinning. It’s surprising how people will buy this CUV and not educate themselves about things like drum brakes and CVTs. Always save the wave!👋🏻👍🏻😎

Nissan Kicks is an absolute Joker especially in this SR model. Say what you want about the Juke, but my gosh at least it had some personality and performance. They could have just cleaned up the Juke a bit in style and updated the interior plus add perhaps 20 more horses to the base S/SV/SL models... But nope...
