What I did was more of a panel blind but I used pvc, a type of rabbit fencing and those 4'x4' marsh grass sheets. The rabbit fencing keeps the pvc pipe square, and keeps it from warping. Also you can tie other natural grass/stubble to it using zip ties or twine... drilled holes in the bottom for fence post and holds very well, only problem I can forsee is if I was hunting in a like a 2'flooded field and not being able to get it to set right to the bottom being pvc is buoyant

I made one out of 1x3s. I basically made 2 - 4ft squares (with a 1x3 going horizontally down the center to support the brushing) and used small hinges to attach them to each other so that it folds up into a 4ft square but when your using it it is 8ft long. stapled burlap on. Ran a bolt through the top corners and used 1x3s as legs that would pivot out. Made my own grass mats to brush it in. works great. Only complaint is that the legs cross the entrance so it can be tricky getting in and out. I also screwed handles on so that they are easier to transport.

Me and my buddy have made them and we make them the size of a truck bed with the tailgate down so we can slide them in and out we weld them together with rebar or a light weight strong aluminum

We use hog panels and T posts but it's heavy and does better when you can leave it up for the season. With that being said I just bought 2 Avian X blinds because of the ease of them being so portable

Do these do well hinting geese out of a field with short grass? I'm using a layout blind now ut was in a car wreck and don't get around and up and down as good as I used to but can you grass these up and put them in the middle of a field or does it scare the birds.

In my experience with the banded axe blind it looks to be 100% better design, functionality, and versitility. All I'm getting at is really observe all of your options before going out and spending big bucks on a badass blind.

I'd hunted the same ditch for pheasants for years. Sort of does an S in a field. Where it turns I noticed geese were constantly flying over but where to hide? Nothing. And then I saw it. Someone had dumped two sets of sliding doors on the farmers field. Got cordless saw and drill. With a quickness I'd built a little coffin blind big enough for a man, dog, and a heater. Laying down. I carried the right kind of weeds in and made it disappear. 100 silos made of luan and I was a goose hunter on the cheap.

I have looked into it and if you wanted to use that type of material, it would not be worth it. rogers has the final approach on sale right now for 299 and they are nicer than this avian x in my opinion

HOLY CRAP! This is incredibly difficult and cumbersome compared to the Tanglefree Panel Blinds. I would feel like I'm sitting out in the open hunting out of this thing, with such a wide top opening and no cover. Definitely not for me!

Frame is a little weak had several rivets break also had angle arms bend and break in heavy snowwith wind also buckle's ate about 4 inches to short hard as heck to close up with cover on but killed a lot of birds out of it

nows the time to pick some corn stalks, let em dry for season use. find a landscaper that removes those tall ornamental grasses from yards. cut all the grass off the root ball. place in 55 gal trash can or bags. bam lots of blind material.

This guy doesn't do this blind justice.This is a great PORTABLE blind.He needs to close it up and use longer brush so the top IS covered.That is why it is angled and has straps and pockets for more brush.I own 2 I like mine that much.
