Great video!!! I picked up 4 cases about a month ago and have been tinkering with them ever since. I would love to see some content on how-to run SteamOS on one or hack a Win driver like you said. I hope someone does unlock the BIOS and really open these things up.

they do boot in to windows just fine -- drivers... Sort of load? SteamdeckOS is next.

​@@OvalboreTech Nice!!! Which driver did you use? I was able to boot to Windows, Ubuntu (nomodeset), and SteamOS...but the drivers are a problem on my end too. A friend of mine loaded up one of the Hive versions that has working drivers for it. He then hacked it back to the default desktop GUI. He said he couldn't get the 3D end of it working right though.

I was able to force zen 2 desktop APU drivers on it but limited effectiveness. for linux, has to be 6.10 @@rickiv7133

These things are very weird, as far as mining goes, the way I look at it is right now the cpu mining pays for the power cost and whatever I'm specing mining on the gpu is free crypto...is it worth it from an efficiency standpoint.... meh it uses a ton of power, but in my situation that's ok. Don't buy these things if you are limited in how much power you can use...but if you have the power and dont mind the efficiency, its hard to get this much hash for basically the cost of a 4070ti super

they strike me as 10 series efficiency but the plus is you have an insanely dense box of nodes you could easily spec 24 to 36 projects on at once with dual GPU mining AND cpu mining. it seems to get less inefficient the harder you push it. just a really weird device! :)

compute is fully unlocked. @@matic38768mem base and fixed clock is indeed 900 (450). core lock and voltage do work but its limited vbios and driver for sure.
