Is the C7 Corvette Grand Sport a BETTER V8 sports car than a 2024 Ford Mustang GT?

The 2019 C7 is the final year of the front engine Corvette from Chevrolet. On the outside of the Grand Sport you will discover the wider body of the Z06, 19/20in wheels and tons of functional venting. On the inside you are greeted by an 8in infotainment system and digital gauge cluster. Under the hood is a 6.2L V8 producing 460HP. I would say that the C8 and C7 look somewhat similar from the front. When I'm driving my C8 which I'm used to looking at and approach a C7 GS or Z06 in the opposite direction, they briefly look like a C8 until they get closer.

I actually had this exact consideration recently. My C7 Z06 was stolen in April. My settlement from my insurance company wasn't enough to get me back into a Z06 without borrowing money which I didn't want to do. So I considered a few Mustang models (Dark Horse, Mach 1) and the Grand Sport. I went with a 2019 Grand Sport. No regrets. The Z06 was a whole other animal and I am heartbroken to lose that car. But the GS is a nice consolation prize.

Absolutely beautiful Corvette ! ---- I don't know about (BETTER) in performance but the C7 Corvette is probably Better from the (more fun to drive) catagory and will probably get you a lot more looks from the girls as you cruise the streets on Saturday Night ! There are literally tons of Mustangs out there so even a MustangGT is just another Mustang out on the street. JMO !

I love the C7. The style is nearly a decade old, if not already a decade old. The design still holds up after all that time. The problem with getting them right now is that you can’t find many low mileage ones(sub 15k), the prices are a little on the unreasonable side, and used car rates are absolutely horrid. I’d love to get a Grand Sport 2LT or 3LT, but $75k+ is ridiculous for a 5+ year old car. That engine sound is phenomenal. I wish things were different :/

Bought a 2015 C7 3LT in 2019 for $37K with 50K miles on it. 2 years later prices were crazy for all used cars but the C7 prices were like 30-60% higher and I sold it to Carmax for $39K. Still regret that but I had my fun and then bought an suv for more practicality. When prices for C7 grand sports drop into the mid to low $40Ks might have to grab another.

I bought a used 2016 Z51 C7 convertible with 7 speed manual a couple of years ago (with magnetic ride damper option, blacked out wheels & carbon fiber package). I also considered a new 2023 Mustang which I’ve also been a fan of but after driving was really no comparison. The Vette is much more of a special experience to drive & own.

I got me a 2019 GS in blue auto transmission wanted it in manual but kept it for the wife to drive sometimes. I’m so addicted to it I can’t get enough of it. If I wasn't such a legend, and didn't own the C7 Z06, in Velocity Yellow Tintcoat, "The Hero Car", with a 7-speed manual, I would consider the Gran Sport. It is an acceptable choice, unless you're me.

I have a 2019 GS, but I mainly drive it in manual...if it's in auto I have the module that keeps AFM from activating. But yes, I hate that AFM is even an issue lol
