Would you recommend the 700d or the 1300d (in 2017?). I'm looking to mainly shoot guitar based videos and perhaps travel vlogs when playing music concerts. Which is the best for me?

Connor Kaminski Since you are planning on shooting video. I definitely wouldn't recommend the 1300D due to the bad auto focus. The 700D is a really good choice as it shoots great quality video at a reasonable price. If you looking for a better DSLR (better video autofocus) in this price range then the Canon 77D or the 800D (released in 2017) is what I would recommend for the type of videos you're planning on shooting.

Thank you for the quick response! I have quite a small budget so would purchasing the 1300d with an STM lens still be a bad choice?

Connor Kaminski I personally wouldn't advise buying the 1300D for video, even with the STM lens. An STM lens would help a bit with the autofocusing but it definitely wouldn't be reliable enough to use for vlogging. Why don't you consider the Panasonic G7X Mark 2? It not a DSLR but it has great low light performance and a solid autofocus system packed into a much smaller body which makes it easier to travel with.
