Is The Crew 1 ACTUALLY Better than Motorfest?

I've only gotten halfway through the video, but already you've missed a looot of stuff in The Crew 1. - Interior materials are in fact customizable; you just have to use the triggers to move between them (leather, carbon, mixed carbon, wood, etc.). - The Crew 1 had license plates you could apply to your cars after unlocking them as awards. This was removed by The Crew 2 but those same license plates are on NPC cars. - Aside from TC1's story mode, you also had landmarks to find, vehicles to find, and way more skill challenges than The Crew 2 and Motorfest *combined*. - You can swap unlocked parts on the fly using the freeroam's quick menu (looks like a smartphone screen) and it also allows you to do quick repairs once you've unlocked the perk for them. What this really underscores is the main problem with the Crew 1 is it had so much that just wasn't apparent on the surface and players were never able to take full advantage of it. The Crew 2 tried to simplify things for the player, and when that wasn't enough, Motorfest simplified them even *more.* For example, Motorfest no longer has a player stats function which was in both TC1 and TC2. So I honestly feel a comparison like this doesn't really do TC1 justice.

Swapping parts on the fly was definitely worse, especially when you unlocked a new part and tried to apply it putting you in a dead stop. May as well be in a hard menu! The landmark points I wouldn't really count as 'content', I'm not one who enjoys collectables (other than cars) I totally forgot about the plates and that's always been a weird 'why' to me, and the interior I definitely forgot. But in terms of all the sound swap, vanity etc. TCM definitely takes that

It should be pointed out that some of the 600+ cars listed in Motorfest, are only available via The Crew 2 save imports. As in they are listed as "not available" in Motorfest, but still listed. So the number is actually a bit less. But... I'm 100% giving The Crew 1 points for Story. The fact that you get rentals only. Means for most actual events, the stuff you have is 100% pointless unless you replay it.

TC is by far one of the best car games i've played ever. It's a sin ubisoft wont release an offline mode patch. I deleted the Uplay app off my PC when i heard they were removing TC, I'll never buy an online only game again, theres no point. You're only renting it.

@@thugginugly1941 The Crew one is being shut down at the end of march, It's already been delisted so i don't think you can buy it anymore even if you wanted to. Theres a group of people tring to figure out how to access the "offline" mode that's been found in the game code but Ubisofts DRM is a tough nut to crack.

The Crew 1 is the most perfect game from The Crew franchise. From its story, to its custimization, and mostly detailed map. Is just unfortunate that they will shut down the servers this March 31st 2024. I would be much more grateful for this game to live on forever or just add a offline mode.

100% agree. I also love the minimal ui. You can swap cars while driving i miss that feature. New menus are so bad. it also had the best atmosphere

The Crew 1 like many old school racing games, had soul. It is certainly the best of the series and it's very sad to see we cannot continue to play the game. I do believe someone will mod it so we can. 🙏

@@DaddyCRUDE yeah, i hope the people in the community manages to make the game work offline at least. Me and a couple of friends used to drive raid cars and drive cross the map avoiding all roads and driving over the mountains. Was a ton of fun

The motorfest map is just so small and lifeless. There’s just a special charm of the crew series having a big US map with landmarks and cities.

Yes, I loved the first crew. Me and my buddy spent 4 hours driving from Miami to Seattle in game. The announcement trailer alone gave me goosebumps.

I remember on the crew (best crew) grinding the long faction races with my friends. You could send them on races for you. Stuff like that just made the whole mmo vibe come to life. The game was so unique and I loved it. A 4 hour race sign me the f up. This way you truly explore the map. It is the overall best adaptation of an mmo racing game and it will probably never be the same when the servers do shut down. The crew thank you for your service you are the goat.

You have to be a complete masochist to ever wanna do Landmark Tour more than once. Which is why it's amazing that The Crew 2 finally added a race creator so players could bring it back.

@@madelineariah fun thing about the landmark tour which is the longest race in the game, tried it a few times and for some reason it kept crashing on like 45% that was when the game was about a few months old. So many hours were lost during that time 😂

The reason The Crew MF did not do it for me 1. You transferred over my vehicles from 2 but I can’t use them in events. 2. The entire charm of the crew for me was the vast area you could drive and now that’s gone. 3. It feels like a dlc expansion.

Ironically, that was the original plan with motorfest. It being planned as crew 2 dlc early on, but was changed in favor of a new stand-alone game in development.

Also good handeling and good races makes racing games even more better.Underground-2 is the perfect example of that.Also we dont need bigger maps.We needs maps that is big enough to explore but also jampacked with hidden stuffs and etc. thats what racing games more need and also hidden races like ug-2.

I feel like The Crew 1 should have gotten a point for being alot more INNOVATIVE than motorfest. The whole USA map was really an achievement at the time and all the different specs for each cars. Now they release new cars and you only really have them in one spec and they don't really change physically like the Mustang GT which got a crazy rally raid kit in the og TC. When you play Motorfest every Rally Raid spec or Dirt spec are basically cars from 2010 because they never did the same for the new cars they added..

Pants, Pvp is mostly dead today theirs only like a handful of people who still play so lobbies only really happen at certain times a day but it is somewhat active if you call the same 30 people active.

Old racing games are gold where the progression makes you play the game more. Back when majority of them are story driven racing games, first forza horizon where you climb ranks to beat darius flynt, the first crew game also has a good story. Not like today's racing game they are just like a festival event racing game with a lame progression the only racing game that is still have story missions is Need for speed, thats why I still like need for speed even though its arcadey and sometimes cringe story but I still play it due to its progression. Grinding is better than getting lucky in wheelspins

The map of TC1 is up to today one of my favourite openworld maps i've ever played. I mean Ivory Tower build not one or two, they build 12 big cities each bigger than most cities in open world racing gemas. I can't tell why but TC1's look and feeling has something special up to today for me which no other racing game can reach. Also in terms of progression TC1 managed it to build up a real connection to the especially the first cars you own. All the other modern racing games I've played just give you constantly so much money and also so much cars for free

I’m 300 hrs in when I’m not parenting or at work I get on with my crew community and I can understand the frustration people have with smaller map we should push devs to add map expansion asap or race creator and personal pvp betting on races don’t give up hope 😭🙏🏽

Motorfest will be the best in 2027 With all the content that they will bring in the future. Now is kind of dead, i want Rally races, More Racing, more especial evemts, things to do with the police and service cars, a map expansion, more tuning, more pvp events, and god why can't be switching events? Also the game need support, more funtions and the list is basically "make a new game". Motorfest is a full-price DLC enhanced experimental reboot of The Crew 2.

the perf spec of the mustang 2011 was better in the crew 1 then the crew motorfest since it had a rear bumper that made it have no exhausts at the back and the side exit exhaust made sense

To be honest, Motorfest was a misstep. I loved the Crew 2 and the little bit I played of 1. Motorfest just has a map that is waaaayyyyyyy too small and lacks fun events. What even is the point of hyper cars when most of the races you can’t get anywhere near the top speed for more than .2 seconds? It saddens me. The handling in Motorfest is great and graphically it looks good, but otherwise it takes a lot of steps backwards.

In general The Crew 1 is so much better to me than any of its successors. I loved the atmosphere, I loved the story mode, the post game content, and in The Crew 2 it just... It just didn't get me at all. I couldn't follow through with any of the content because there is no clarity to it and I hate it to be honest.

This was a weird one for me. Comparing the Crew 1 and MF without comparing C2 is crazy. TC1 had a story and more detailed map. Besides that TC2 was better at everything else. Then you have MF. 85% or more of the car's are just C2 car's. The customization is from C2 the only thing MF has is a different map and better graphics. Overall TC2 does everything better. More car's, more customization, more content and huge map.

I tought TC 23 will be in Europe, it would be nice... But in TC1 i wass dissapointed woth Koenigsegg. Stock went 450 km/h and perf only 373... and now in TC 2, street Murciliago goes to 390 :D wtf why

Car physics, models, and sounds are infinitely better in Motorfest. The only thing the first one really has on it is the story and maybe map, but the map is honestly debatable cause Hawaii looks much better and isn’t as barren.

I hate Moterfest…..I have a bunch of cars for no reason outside of online. The real reason I hate motorfest so much because I really love the driving physics. Perfect blend of arcade and simulation for me. I know it’s dying breed, but I’m one of the few that prefer single player over online. Would be happy with just some more playlists and activities for your own cars.

I love both, i would say its a tie, diagree with me or not, The Crew 1 had an amazing feeling and story, but Motorfest gets so much content and support, i love both games and lots of us do too, i aint staying with none of them without the other

On my fourth racethrough of The Crew story mode. Disappointed of the use of Hawaii as the setting, hoped against hope that we'd have gotten the whole of Europe as a sandbox, not a Forza like postal stamp of a map. And still no working mirrors!
