I've been getting a lot of comments on my CRF250F videos of people saying "I'm this height, am I too short for the CRF250F?" or "am I too tall for the CRF250F?" I’m 6ft 3 and have been riding dirt bikes for 58 years and with a few mods, the CRF250F fits me pretty well. I run Pro Taper bars with risers and bark busters and also have some Hyperlite Moto mods that raise the bike about an inch. You will need to extend the kickstand if you do this. Top speed is irrelevant to me so I run a two tooth larger rear sprocket which BTW will fit with the stock chain. If you ride in any mud, the rear fender, the seat, and your back will be covered in mud after every ride. I riveted a wide heavy piece of plastic to the rear fender to mostly alleviate this problem. If you ride in a rocky area, you will need an aftermarket quality skid plate. Other than that, just go out and hit the trails.

This is my first dirt bike at age 47 and i amd 5'6 165lbs. With my riding boots i can touch both balls of my feet on the ground at same time. Its been the perfect bike for me to learn on with the short seat hight then most motorcross bikes. Not intimidating in power or height.

I'm about 6 feet high, 6"1' 6"2', I don't know, to be honest, I'm 15 now and I used to do enduro when I was 8 to 11, I had a 100cc at the time but I also rode the 230 from my dad (I ripped with that thing), I'm planning to go back to the track, hold on or MX I don't know yet, maybe both and I'm looking for a Honda. I heard that they are relatively cheaper and, as they are 4-strokes, they require less maintenance than 2-strokes, plus I have always ridden 4-strokes. So I know how to maintain them

If you're looking to ride mx and hit jumps and stuff I would probably lean more towards the crf250r over the 250f for sure. better suited for that application

This has double the power but it’s delivered like the 140 but more down low torque

Can you compare the seat to peg distance on this bike compared to a motorcross bike? This measurement is important to me because I don’t need a bigger bike than this if I can help it and my long legs feel cramped on my klx 140

I'll have to measure that at some point to actually compare but you'd probably feel less cramped on the 250f than the 140 I'd guess... as for the mx bikes, if you have super long legs they'll fit much better for you in the long run but if you're still getting used to riding and are building confidence, you may want to stick with the air cooled trail bikes. that being said, a 125 2-stroke like a yz125 or something is a great beginner bike on the mx side of things. will definitely have way more zing than what you're used to but its a small enough engine to be manageable.

if it will be your first dirt bike, then i'd recommend it as long as you don't grow to over 6ft in the next 2 years when you go to buy it... however if you end up getting super tall within that time frame I'd suggest re-evaluating your options when the time to buy comes

I am 14 years old and 5’10 I’m coming from a crf 125f which I’m way to big for now. I have been riding it for 3 years and before that I rode a 110 for 2 years. I would say I’m an intermediate rider. I ride trails at my house and I ride a lot in state forest trails. (some of them being pretty tricky) Do u think this bike is a good fit for me?

the crf will be very similar to what you're used to as far as power delivery goes. check out my other video about what category the crf250f is in and how it differs from other categories of dirt bikes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYqopqxum7Wqr5I if you're comfortable with the way the power delivers on the 125f and you're not looking to get much more challenging with the type of terrain you ride, the 250f is going to be a great bike that will fit you much better. if you see yourself tackling more advanced trails or even just want something a bit more competition focused, I would recommend looking into some more gncc oriented bikes like the yamaha yz125x, possibly beta x-trainer (although I don't have much experience with it)

@@notsoupmotoI feel like I would definitely like to try something else out that might be more competitive, but the thing I am worried about for 2 stroke bikes like the yz 125x is the maintenance. I would like to start learning on an engine that might be a little bit more snappy but still good for trail riding.

@@jeremiahdavis1378 while two strokes take a little bit more maintenance than the beginner trail bikes, it's not something to worry too much about. As long as you clean the air filter regularly you shouldn't have to worry about many issues. 2-stroke engines are also very simple so they're cheaper to repair. I've only really ever had to do piston and rings every once in a while (after like a whole season) on my 125 and I ride it pretty hard. If you're just riding the thing normally this will be rare. I haven't ridden the 125x but if it's anything like the 250x on the trails you will absolutely LOVE it!
