Great video man. I agree with all the points. There was a time that I was really considering selling my scooter and my super73 and upgrading to the CTY2. The height was perfect, the step through aesthetic as beautiful, and has all the power I need for commuting in the 5 boros. I think you made a great decision with it and an even better decision doing the battery upgrade!

I was going to get the Onyx CTY2 For almost a year and a half, I was set on getting the Onyx CTY2, however, I live in an apartment on the 14th floor, And when I finally had enough money to buy it 2 weeks ago, they came out with the Emove roadrunner Pro, And that just seemed like a wiser choice, being that Im in an apartment on the 14th floor, And I can't lock my bike up downstairs. I should be receiving it sometime in May I'm starting a channel, And I'm hoping everything goes well. 😉 Anyway love your videos 👍 I may even still get an Onyx, And if I do it will be the CTY2😎

I went with the Juiced HyperScrambler 2. I decided after a few rides that I won't go any bigger or faster on eBikes; if I do end up going faster, I'll probably get an eMotorcycle (Kawasaki) or eScooter (Honda PCX, if they ever bring it stateside) instead. I have a couple other eBikes, (Lectric XP Lite, Aventon Level.2) but I picked up road cycling this year and I'm liking that even more.

Hi there!👋 if it were me, I would go CTY2 all the way. It’s the most expensive, but you will have quality and performance to match. The Rev 1 is cool, but it’s in lower class then the CTY2 in terms of speed. The Apex is a little bit closer and looks cool, but still outclassed by the CTY2. I haven’t seen to much on the apex so it’s hard to recommend.

Love mine. The only downside is the range, but that’s true with any electric vehicle. 👋 It’s about 130ish pounds so it’s not necessarily easy to lift up to a flat bed because of its shape. If you have a ramp that would be ideal. It’s doable, but I personally would not want to be lifting it in and out regularly.

Only complaint is the damn clock? It’s always 10AM lol. Range is an issue for me as well. Not getting 20 miles on sport unless I keep it under 40. Have gps verified 48mph so have to agree it’s worth the price. At 3200 I bet they sold a lot for Black Friday

Cool video, man. Like your points. I’d love to get a CTY2, but that price is on the high side for me. Anything else similar on the market? Something that can hit about 40mph?
@ErockRodz Жыл бұрын
Hey Robert! Thank you, I appreciate that! You may want to check out the SparksCycle works Bandit, it’s a little cheaper and rated for 40mph top speed, just not sure how long you can sustain that top speed for, as I don’t actually own one. Onyx seems to have sales fairly often so you may be able to get a CTY2 at a cheaper price and can sustain 40mph without any issues. I also hear the Lyric Graffiti can hit around 38mph, but the price is getting close to the CTY2. If it were me, I would try save a bit more for the CTY2 and go for that, all the other 52v bikes won’t be able to sustain 40mph as well as a 60v CTY2 in my opinion. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!
@TheMindofRobert Жыл бұрын
@@ErockRodz Thank you for that awesome reply. I was checking out the Bandit, pretty cool, but yeah, I kinda think I would rather have the CTY2. Thanx again for the help. By the by, does the CTY2 lose much speed going uphill?
@ErockRodz Жыл бұрын
I would say CTY2 all the way! CTY2 slows down a bit on hills, but not by much, you can still fly up those hills no issues. Some of my other group ride videos on the CTY2 show some hill climbing! Only thing is that hills will kill your battery faster, that’s the only other thing to consider. Good luck!

I JUST WISH IT WASNT SO HEAVY. Otherwise it seems pretty perfect. The original CTY was only 90 pounds! The new one with it’s more robust frame, larger motor, and batter is around 140 pounds. I just wish the SurRon didn’t have such a horrible reputation in California at this point. That bike truly checked ALL the boxes for me.
@ErockRodz2 жыл бұрын
Hey Dex! Yes it is heavy, but that does make it feel super stable while riding at speeds! It just doesn’t help when having to lift it up stairs or onto a trailer. Yes Surrons are great, but they are being targeted more even on the east coast without having pedals!

Would you recommend a CTY2 vs the Revv 1 for casual riding?
@ErockRodz Жыл бұрын
If you have the budget for the CTY2, then I would recommend it 100 percent over the Revv. Only reason you may not want it would be if you actually wanted to pedal the bike. That may be the only thing the Revv may possible have over the CTY2.
