Once again - this show isn't specifically for kids, as the original film wasn't. Also Henson's view of children was that they shouldn't have a sanitised and unchallenging existence, they need to be scared and made aware of things that are troubling or difficult to process. It's part of growing up.

Absolute masterpiece. I saw the movie at the cinema when I was 9 and have been an avid fan ever since. Age of Resistance takes you further into this world that Jim Henson created and just expands it, enhances it, embellishes it, builds on it so perfectly. It's just so well done and so good to see a follow up film series being as good as the original. For me the most curious characters were the Gruenaks which were inhabitants of Thra that we had not been introduced to before. It was a bit brutal and disturbing to learn their fate at the hands of Skektek but I'm kind of hoping that there are a few more still alive and that we learn a bit more about them in series 2.

Its definitely worth the binge if you really enjoyed the 1982 film. It tells more of the backstory of the skeksis, the gentle mystics and the gelflings. AOR also shows you what happens to some skeksis characters; for example, the scientist Skeksis (voiced by non other, Mark Hamill) and the creation of some creature (I won't even name for non spoiler purposes). The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance is definitely not like the film but it still shows the passion and the dedication the crew built upon of what the original film brought to us in 1982. Jim Henson was and is still a Legend when it came to bringing The Dark Crystal to life. Jim Henson even said in an interview 'The Dark Crystal is a form of Art and I believe The Dark Crystal was definitely my all time Favorite Projects to date"

I absolutely fell in love with the show! Deet was my most favourite character! Along with Rian, Brea and Hup of course! But Deet takes the top spot. Amazing design! The plot and the expanded myth was perfect but it may have a plot hole. Beware, spoilers ahead... As we see in the movie, the General is alive and well. But in the series he dies. Now, either they bring him back to the living or the movie's general is a different skeksis. However... Mother Aughra said that there are many different paths. Some good. Most bad. This makes me wonder if the movie's events are a totally different "path". Maybe in season 2 (and forth) we see a totally different set of events. P.S. The vision that Deet had (with glimpses of the future) has some very interesting stuff!

I loved the movie as a kid. I was also so intrigued by the puppetry of the film that I am now a puppeteer as an adult. So of course I love the series👍 in the other series I would like them to fully explore the fall of the heroes... I also kind of want them to remake the movie as a series following that tragedy.... sort of like what they did with the Hannibal series and the film red Dragon

When I saw the trailer for it I thought it was a sequel but to my delight it was a prequel and was like “fuck yeah, world building”

Thank you for getting into the meat of this series so early on, unlike the other KZbinrs, harp on non-stop in circles before starting on the review process. I just subbed! ; ) Andy Samberg wasn't the puppeteer of the Heretics puppet show, if anyone was wondering, Barnaby Dixon was. An amazing puppeteer, to say the least. Check him out on his KZbin channel: kzbin.infovideos

What. The. Hell. I just watched an ad for Split on TV about 2 minutes ago and now Kris mentions that actor from Split?!!? Is there a Nerdwire drone outside my house?

I had never been so happy to be proven wrong in my life. I thought that it would be disapointing, and it was awesome.

I didn’t like how one character in particular received, essentially, no comeuppance for her actions. If you have a character act that terribly there’s got to be consequences or it’s meaningless.

The first episode really dragged, but once this series got going, it really lived up to the 27 year wait of seeing more of this world.

You know what? I’ve decided that this time it would actually be a good thing, if this was really a REBOOT! I just love Everybody and Everything in this show- as much as I Love the original movie - that I would absolutely love to see them change the outcome in this series. This...reboot?! Who’s with me? ☺️

I was trying to find the original film when I came across the show. I was so confused lol. Too be honest I felt that the first half was dragging, but episode 5 onward is amazing.
