They call them "correctional officers". Prisons are not here to correct inmates they are there to punish them, which is what they deserve they also deserve to be treated humanely. Prison should not be comfortable nor should it be fun, but it should be clean, the food should be nutritious and it should provide adequate medical and educational facilities. If you executed a prisoner then you just let him off the hook. If you sentence the defendant to life without parole, you take away all hope. How do you rehabilitate and control someone with nothing to look forward to? Some of those prisoners are innocent.

Death penalty is just revenge where a life time in prison is a hard life and lasts until they die. Not having a life in prison for murder and putting someone to death is wrong plain and simple. Its the state deciding someone must die, yet what has the crime to do with them. where a long long time without freedoms must be hard on peoples self esteem where dying after a few years by what ever means by public executioner is letting them off easily. The death penalty doesn't deter people from committing murder never has and never will. The UK used to have a death penalty for pickpocketing yet during executions pickpockets were at their rich picking stage and worked to crowd.

imo, Death penalty is not justice but law enforcement. Justice is a concept and thus can be implemented in multiple forms, depending on what the people or the society involved finds is right. .
