I am actually loving the fact the lobbies are filled with smaller carnivores it should be that way when you have 83 people in a server and 50 of them are apexes it just seems ridiculous....

See the problem i have is while the update gave it pounce, they also gave at least 5 to 6 of the official creatures a hide that makes them immune to pounce. It kinda defeats the purpose since this ability was supposed to make the raptors viable. not to mention that they can’t even pounce on modded dinos.

Makes them have to choose pounce immunity over being more tank vs raw damage and bleed resist.

Well not many people are going to use that because it means that they are specialized at resisting raptors specifically and no other creatures. Most people won't want that. It's like the venom heal subspecies. Nobody wants to specialize in surviving against one specific creature in the whole game. They would prefer to be faster or tankier.

@@catpoke9557 Well going to kill things regardless even if tis weaker. Alot of people dont want to work out more solutions to the mechanic, so they either take the immunity or die regardless of nerfs made.

Well other Dino’s have to make a choice. Be okay against pouncers but be weaker to the majority of other Dino’s, or be susceptible to pounce and stronger against the other Dino’s. As a raptor, you have literally nothing to worry about. Most people can’t even catch you because the rubber banding makes it appear that they’re lagging.

The pounce is great. These raptors have more use now. Especially before they had such a problem hitting anything because, we always have to be on the move when attacking so we don’t die in 2 hits. This could guarantee that we get a few hits in. And definitely a skill that makes sense for Raptors. People are complaining a lot I’m not sure why. Raptors damage is still small as they are so little. You need to be in a pack to benefit from it. Especially if you run out of stamina you could be a risk of a stomp aoe, or any other skill really. I personally prefer to use normal bite with pounce as it does bleed damage and raptor strikes does not. Overall great change for the Raptors. They are fun, and playable, not just meals on wheels anymore. Now bigger Dino’s will have to be more cautious, as they should be. Raptors were very fast, intelligent Dino’s that worked in packs. 🤩🙌

I have an adult Dein, and my wife has an adult Lat, and just based on PVP instances and general questing, I feel like there isn't much point in the Dein when the Lat exists, aside from players wanting a different "raptor" variant. I was looking forward to finally getting the "slicer" ability, but still no slicer yet. I feel like the voice abilities for the Lat are much better, as is the Night Stalker it has. I will say that the Dein has the advantage only in regards to it's jumping ability that costs 50% less stamina cost. But that is quickly dismissed comparatively to the Lat's stamina pool / recovery. All in all, a good dino, but compared to the Lat, it has nothing really going for it other than the one ability, and it being half the Lat's size almost. But this is just my .02

A kentro can throw the chickens off with the “shoulder check” ability and it causes them a lot of damage

Yes, I agree. Not only that but the reflect dmg from the spikes is pretty damaging as well. I pounced a kentro and I’m 100% certain it had 3x frill dmg. I was right on the spikes so I took massive bleed damage.

people are complaining about pounce but theres so many ways to counter it like you could have the hide if available, if you can swim you just run into water, some dinos reflect damage, you can buck, or if you're a dino that can't do any of that all you need is another friend or packmate to attack them when latched. Theres so so many counters to pouncing but everyone just wants to complain like wtf cause now my server Arazoa nerfed Laten groups making them a lot less fun to play and im worried what other ways people will make raptors almost as boring and useless as they used to be.

the buck does literally nothing it drains stam but it barely drains any of the raptors stam so they can literally kill a rex while its bucking constantly and them not run out of stam once

i recommend using normal bite instead because omg the bleed damage on the normal bite is insane when you stack up bites if you get atleast 20 bites on an allos body you can bleed it out

You were taking damage because Cerato & Pycno have a passive ability that damages anything that attacks them. Like the Amarga, Kentro & Styraco passives minus the bleed.

I know people hate pounce but trust me. Slick scales/feathers. Plus, stomp on a big dino. and watch the trophies roll in. It's hilarious. In case you do not have it, I would recommend moving your way to water and they either have to let go early, or you drag them into it, and you can get some free hits in areas where they are too small to stand up and you are tall enough. Killed quite a few using either.

They fixed struthi kick taking lots of Stam and kick probably doesn’t even use Stam anymore (I haven’t tested that yet)

Only downside is that they made the stamina regen slower. Now when you're sleeping it's the same speed as sitting in the last updates. Standing and walking is still the same

I'm a laten main. The only thing I suggests to change is to increase stamina drain while bucking 15-20% . And a bit of nerf to raw damage just a bit. I really want the battle more longer as its more fun that way like The isle as raptors by bleeding it out

I do think regular bite is better on nychus, since raptor strikes doesn't do bleed, I had two of them make over half my stegos hp bar bleed with the regular bite

Hello again SimplyAmazing :D I've never clicked a video so fast haha Deinonychus is my main and I'm so glad to see you cover it! One quick question though, in your video you said that the deinonychus is really fast and has really good stamina, I was wondering if this is from this new update and if they've changed the stats, and if so, where can I see the new stats? Because iirc the deinonychus has rather mediocre stamina drain (its worse than laten, metri, conca, alio, pycno, campto, pachy, struthi, kentro) and its sprinting speed is also rather mediocre (its the same speed as pycno, allo, meg, metri, conca, styra), which means that everything that's the same speed or slightly slower that has better stamina drain, can essentially run it down and kill it. Being run down and killed due to lack of stam has been my biggest problem since before the update, and if they've really changed the stats this time I'd be delighted to know

FYI raptor strikes does less damage over all even at 5 stacks, the default bite attack applies bleed and does more damage per bite.

I heard the default raptor bite does the same damage as raptor strikes max damage. Plus default bite adds bleed. But i do not know if this has been fixed or was intentional.

Pounce should not be so strong for one raptor. If they’re grouped they should get a buff that does good damage. But one raptor should not be able to kill an apex by himself. It’s ridiculous.

Only thing I'm noticing that weird is when ur latched on even if not being hit by other dinos every time u bite u lose health I had that happen to me when I pounced on a metri he wasn't able to attack me but I lost health with every attack I did kinda need a video explaining how that happens
