What?!?! Are you sneaking around my house? I’m trying to figure this out right now! Thank you!

I have a (Brand New, in the box) Icom 706, mark 1. It was handed down to me from my favorite Uncle (whom got me into ham radio!). I have not even got it set up yet, because I don't have any HF antennas up yet. I already have a Digirig mobile, I use it on an HT radio for my portable Echolink station.

I am sure you will be happy about that radio. Check out my recent video about five antennas for new hams for some inspiration for your first antenna.

@@LB0FI A New ham, I am not! I have been a technichian for 30 years. I just never got into to HF because I am still having fun with VHF, UHF & Digital modes! But have since wanted to expand my education a bit.

Thank you. Yes, Digirig works great with my FT897. Nice video, friend.

That's the beauty of it, it works on pretty much any radio.

It's great how a small add-on, like the DigiRig or Mobilinkd, can enhance the capabilities of older radios.

It's not that it is revolutionary by itself, but it's small, easy and easy to use.

I need to buy a digirig for my 706 and one for my G90. I don't think one will work for both. Thanks for the video on how to set it up! 73 Morton

In theory you should only need a separate set of cables for the 706 and G90 and the digirig should work with both radios
@LB0FI7 ай бұрын
You will need separate Digirigs for those radios. The 706 use CI-V for CAT and the G90 use RS232. You could reconfigure one for each use, but that would involve adding and removing solder bridges for each use.

There is a video on the digirig site that shows how you have to cut and/or solder a couple pads on the board for Kenwood/Xiegu vs Yaesu vs Icom.
@DD5LP7 ай бұрын
@@LB0FI the G90 uses CiV commands. A limited selection of them compared to the icom. The G90 does not have RS232. CAT control (CiV) is via the supplied USB to 3.5 stereo connector which uses one ring for send and one for receive data (ICOM send Rx and tx data on the same ring - hence the need for a different cable). Audio to the radio goes to a mini-DIN ACC socket on the G90 this is also a different plug to the ICOM hence the need for different digirig to radio cable set. If you end up buying two interface boxes buy the digirig from the ICOM and Xiegu's own DE-19 for the G90. It does everything the digirig does and is cheaper. 73 Ed DD5LP

Hi, we have a trouble with digirig mobile and IC-706MkIIG. With "full output" (all controls at 100%, including Windows Volume control) but IC-706 gives only about 0.5 watt out. Where to look for a fix?

Sorry for the late reply. I don't know actually. How is the power output with CW?

Interesting! One question, is the following configuration possible: iPhone with iTFx app, Digirig and FT-857? Thanks in advance!
@LB0FI6 ай бұрын
I have not been able to get my Digirig to work with iFTx, so I am tempted to say no. It might be possible, but then someone has to tell me how to do that. I also have a video out about iFTx if you want to check that out.
