A couple of things need to happen I think, and unfortunately it’ll need to be subscription based. If movie theater chains all implement and normalize a $20 a month subscription service for going to the theater the way AMC and Regal do, then more people will go to the movies. It’s clear it only works if it’s theater chain based (as we saw the ups and downs of movie pass), but it’s boggling how bad Regal and AMC are at advertising these. I will say something that is missing with those now is the ability to have family plans so kids can go. Parents aren’t going to want to pay $20 a month for each family member Another thought is studios having theater subscription services. So pay a certain amount a year to see all of the movies that studio is distributing (obviously would only work for larger studios). People struggle paying for things individually now, and that’s showing at the box office

FULLY agree that kids need to be allowed to get a subscription with AMC or Regal. It's baffling to me that can't be included even under a parent account at an added fee.

The most interesting thing to me is how many companies are exclusively on certain streaming platforms. Especially with companies like A24 signing deals to be exclusive to Max. It makes sense why streaming services would want that, but idk why studios would want to exclusively be on one platform, especially if that platform isn't as cash flow positive. (Not saying that's true about Max, I personally love Max)
