The Civic Type R is the most powerful Honda ever sold in the USA. The FK8 Civic Type R was produced from 2017-2022. On the outside you will find a more aggressive style than the 2024 FL5 Type R. On the inside you will get fully bolstered seats, digital gauge cluster and built in infotainment system screen. Thanks for all the love guys! Glad so many of you loved the color and car as much as I did. I think this was one of the best colors for the FK8 since it help tone down some of the aggressiveness of this generation. This car has been one of the best all around daily drivers I have ever owned with little to no issues for the 5 years I’ve now owned this car. Great hatch back usability for my photography business and awesome performance. I would highly recommend this car to anyone in the market even with some mileage on it like mine.

Nice car. Usually when people mod their cars, they put on a lot of things and sometimes it’s too much! This one is just right. I love the sound from the exhaust. I’m not a car guy but did you just change the exhaust or do a delete on the muffler and that other part?.. I wonder if I can do that kind of exhaust sound on my CX-5 😂..

Great topic. I LOVE my FK8. It was and is one of my dream cars. I am never selling it. I am still amazed Honda had the courage to release something so bold looking. The FL5 is also an amazing car but for me since I already have the FK8 my eyes are on the Acura Integra Type S for our next car.

Do an Air-to-oil (AOS) over catch cans. About $100 more and you don’t need to worry about emptying the catch cans.

Raiti you said something...dual catch cams. The reason Ford made the Mustang with Dual throttle was to counter the issues Ecoboost 2015-2018 had. Turbo engines to powerful and oil would leak and seap into the combustion. Super smart of Honda. I have a newer Ecoboost Turbo engine but my last one after 190k on the dash gave me issues. And my mechanic kept questioning the Cams and throttle body. Learned the hard way lol

Put some 18/9 wheels on it with -41 offset and you can run that car lowered on 265’s with no rub and you get even more grip.

Awesome uploud. This is exactly what ive been debating lately. While they are pretty well matched cars between the Fk8 and FL5 there is quite a price gap. Yes it would be nice to roll out with a brand new speedometer but we cant discount the affordability and performance of the Fk8. Also i am huge on interior styling, i prefer the integrated screen rather than a tablet at the top of the dash like the FL5. Good debate.

Tell Steven to look into the RSR coil-overs, a System that utilizes Honda’s drive modes. That way you can still have your functional R mode on track with better adjustments to ride height. If that’s something he was interested in 😅😅👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿 simple modes that work, love the dual can setup. Did you try the reverse flow charge pipes? 😊

I crossed shopped the Elantra N and the FK8 ultimately went with the FK8 because it was more functional with the hatch and no rear strut brace. I take my car to the track and set of wheels and the FK8 is ready to go

I want a type R so badly. But I’ve never owned a manual car before. Would you suggest owning a cheaper used manual first and then getting the type R? Not sure how badly I’d damage the gearbox/clutch since I’m a beginner.

Hey Joe The reason Honda has the car so quiet is to comply with European sounds laws for exhausts. If it's was USA only, they could have went with more burbles like I'm the Integra type S.

Remember there is no sunroof. I’ve had a sunroof on pretty much everything I’ve owned except my Tyoe R and my Legend. I definitely miss popping the roof up for some fresh air and I never smoke in my car.
