I think the answer for “do you have dreams?” Being “I’m scared” actually makes sense to me. Cause if we think about it from a child’s POV, referencing dreams to a child who’s only had nightmares, it makes sense that they would only think of dreams as scary, and not want to think of dreams at all. The association of dreams and being scared may lead to a kid to only answer “I’m scared” and not explain further bc, in their mind, dreams and nightmares are the same thing. Thus only processing the fact their reaction to being asked about dreams is just I’m scared makes perfect sense to me if we’re thinking about it from the child’s perspective of not wanting to think about what scares them

About the dissatisfaction for Cassidy's 7th letter, while I can't offer another way to get "i", I can offer a middle ground. The last 2 numbers are also a bit different from the first 4, each being written in red, rather than altered text. What if we were meant to just find "Cass" and assume the rest of "Cassidy", like how we saw "Mike" FNaF 1 and SL and filled it out to "Michael" or now with "Dave" being "David". It'd also fit with the trend of 4 letter nicknames in this franchise: Dave, Mike, and, to a lesser extent, Bill for William (in the Security Breach tapes and AR's emails iirc).
@MRPandoraHartDR2 ай бұрын
To give credit where it is due I was also not the original person to make this connection. That was @FTZPLTC under Hyperdroids Vid. But Matt being a theatre kid like me, you'll appreciate this and it imho it pretty much cements the fact it is CASSIDY and DAVE. AND they are the two spirits in Golden Freddy. So I need to share this with you. So FTZPLTC pointed out In 1983 singer David Cassidy sang Any Dream will do.' I saw their comment and looked it up and it was a bit more than just sang, he actually took over the role of Joseph in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in 1983. But the moment I read that, the bells were already ringing, cos I performed in Joseph when I was a kid. And so I realised immediately. THIS SONG REFERENCES WEARING GOLD!! Specifically, the first line is 'I wore my coat, with golden lining.. ' And then later on, he sings 'my golden coat flew out of sight.' Well, since the first time I learnt those lyrics ready to perform them, it's always struck me that, while the line about gold lining could make sense, the coat in question has already been established to be multicoloured not just golden. So calling it a golden coat with golden lining would mean, if the lyrics were accurate, the whole coat was just gold. . Matt, put this one to Scott please cos if all that background is just a coincidence it would be outright spooky!

i personally really like the tally marks pointing to page 39. As mentioned, there are two page 39s so it tells readers that no, its not a misprint, its important. AND, it also includes the 4+5, 3 puzzle (telling u to add up (tally) numbers AND go to the page number in the corner). AND, finally, it tells you that this number search will lead to the golden freddy missing name on the gravestone, NOT solving for the OTHER missing name (which is linked to the foxy grid, and requires a second number search). I remember when we all didnt KNOW there was a third entity in the book. MatPat theorised that faded's text was talking to MICHAEL because we didn't KNOW there was a third entity in the book, which led MatPat to believe that MICHAEL was the crying child because CLEARLY that was who the ghost was talking to, but we didn't know that altered text's words were another character within the book. I believe that the methodology got a bit scrambled. It's the trouble with having puzzles in a book, where all the clues and numbers could be mismatched and misinterpreted bc you have access to ALL of the clues at the one time, as opposed to clues being delivered to you in a linear fashion (like a game, where context and delivery of the clues can be controlled more and can delineate a methodology easier). I believe the methodology, as Ash said, was for people to see the tally marks FIRST. They're so obvious, OBVIOUSLY important. Readers would find and have all of the tally marks, and go now what do I do with these numbers? Cue the comic, with the addition on the board and the 'page number' in the corner. Great - add the tallies and go to THAT page number. But wait, theres TWO pages with the same number? That means we have to be on the lookout for OTHER 'important' numbers and number discrepancies which will lead us to the answer to the faded text's/golden freddy's name. The fact that theres a word search and the foxy grid which are both number related puzzles is just kind of unfortunate. It's another reason i like the solution of Dave in the mirror - they're right next to each other, so it shows that they're connected but not the same puzzle, and having the FINAL step (the reflection) there is a nice touch.

It would be super interesting if CC was Dave (David) which meant ‘Beloved’ and the potential connections to the novel ‘Beloved’ by Toni Morrison. Another minor point to just hammer in the nail a bit more is that David, Michael and Elizabeth are all biblical names, Scott himself is a Christian so it wouldn't be too far-fetched to name the three main children after his beliefs. I'm not sure if the names themselves have any significance or parallels, in the bible Michael is an Archangel, David is most known for slaying the giant Goliath, and Elizabeth is the mother of John the Baptist and also Mary's sister (Jesus' mother). But them being biblical names is a sure way to have them connected, as well as the entire family's names (including William) being very common British names which is where they're from.

My opinion regarding 41:00 a.k.a" Illogicality of the last two answers": For me, the answer "I am scared" is rather authentic and emotional answer to the "Do you still have dreams?", which is fine since the one answering to is a CHILD. All the other 4 answers did felt like authentic and emotional too. Even the first 2 to me felt just as authentic and emotional, even if they seem logical and straighforward and intentional from the first glance, which makes them stand out and sound "correct". I think the one who is asking questions is not looking forward to his/her questions to be "correctly" answered, but to try to undrestand the child ; furthermore, knowing Scott, it is in his style to give answer in not so straightforvard way, therefore Scott making the crying child answer with not so straightforward words is in his style is fine by me. Furthermore, even the questions which have seemingly logical answers..have not so straignforward answers: 1) For examlpe, the straightforward answer "what do you see?" would be "nothing", but instead, we get "i cant see", which we feel is logical just because both the answer and question contain word "see". 2) Lets see the second pair: "The party was for you" is anwered with "it was for me". On the first glance, it seems like the child is answering with confirmation to answer the given question as straighforward as possible, a.k.a. the answer is logical; Yes, the answer is logical, butto me it immediately felt like this was an emotional AND indirect answer from a child... I imagined a child staring and nothingness, then he heard the question "The party was for you", but he didnt heard any question or a sign to give confirmation to the statement of the one questioning, but instead emotionally reacted to the word PARTY, then remembered what the statement said(which in his mind turned from "bla-bla-bla PARTY bla-bla" to "the PARTY was for you") when the child repeated the statemend "The party was for me" because the statement itself become like a self-confirmation to a child, the child said to himself that the party was for him.; it didnt seem to me like a conversation where the child directly looked at one asking question and answering "Yes, you are correct/yes i confirm, the party is for me". The same logic/vision could be applied to previous case (1), a.k.a. after hearing "what do you see?" , the child emotionally reacted to the word SEE, again referred to the statement (as the child probably didnt intentionally listen to the one questioning, so therefore the question didnt feel like the question ), repeated the statement to confirm to himself "I...cant see...". 3)"Does he still talk to you?", if a child would like to answer logically and intentionally/directly to the one who is questioning, the child would answer with "yes, he does still talk to me". And here comes the real answer "I can hear sounds". On the first glance, it seems incorrect answer just because both question and answer dont contain similar words (like in case 1), neither does the answer seem to be logical like case 2. BUT, if to follow the new logics i kinda invented from the first two sets, (1st logic is "THe child is not listening to the one questioning to intentionally answer or confirm anything; a.k.a not really focusing on answering the question correctly, like a child does" 2nd logic "The child emotionally reacts to the words from the statement") (3nd logic is "after being triggered by certain words(referring to 1st logic), the child lets out another statements as of form of confessing to himself that statement, aka. self-confirmation"). Therefore, 1)the child hears some words "Does he still talk to you?", but doesnt really have intention or will to answer "correctly" (furthermore, it isnt like millions of fnaf fans are relying for his answer to confirm theories or solving some puzzles, no pressure to his childish way of communicating :DDD) 2) reacts to "he" "talk" 3) remembers HOW "he" "talks" to him, and says "I hear sounds". HERE, even if the one who is questioning didnt get a straightforward answer like "Yes, he talks to me, i hear him", the one who is questioning could still deduce that the child gave him very very detailed answer, not only confirming that "he" "talks" to the child, but also understanding that the child hears the sounds from "him" 4) "Do you still have dreams?" ->the child reacts to word "dreams"-> does a self-confirmation / answers emotionally "im scared ". THerefore, all the answers felt like answers to me for the reasons/logics i could deduce from reading the questions, knowing who is answering, and the setting of the situation also Miller surname in Dave Miller means "Meaning:One who grinds grain, operates a mill. Miller, once a traditional job turned surname ". Therefore Afton probably was like "hmm, lets have Miller as surname, as it is a traditional job turned surname. Hm, name.... welp, my child Dave is no longer here already, so i wouldnt possibly reference anyone with "my deed sons name"+"popular job surname" combination hehe" UPD. on the Dave Miller name: It HAS TO BE a reference to RHE crying child Dave (David), because, it is IMPOSSIBLE to say that Afton ,out of all possible names, choose the name of HIS OWN DEED, BELOVED" SON. If Afton couldn't be aware that Dave is his son's name while choosing random names, then the reason Afton choose name HAS RO BE because the Dave is his deed son

I also wonder if the answers were short on purpose to show that this is a child speaking, because I can't see, I hear sounds, and the party was for me are all short answers. Asking, "Do you still have dreams?" To a child who had violent nightmares could be answered,"I have nightmares, " but that's literally on the nose, we'd know it was the crying child from that alone. The vaguely shortest answer to that I can think of rn is "No, I dont," but that's very introspective for someone who'd be at the most 10. "I'm scared" could also be read as "I'm scared - *OF* my dreams. You don't have to add too much to the answer to get this. So all and all, I agree that if we are talking about someone who is really young and who is limited in his speech, the responses are practically perfect.

I like how cellphones and answering machines are becoming more and more integrated into the lore, something that dates back to ww2 (also referenced in the week before), because it's how the killer (since fnaf1 before we had names) was able to establish an alibi and keep themselves out of prison whilst pinning everything on someone else. In 10 years of theorizing on everything from source code, frame-by-frame viewing of trailers, needing to understand minimum wage laws, corporate lingo, brain structure and a plethora of tools and such, how come the fnaf1 trailer has never been used? It ends with an endo being self-aware enough to remove the bonnie mask, something that is in direct contrast to the programming and "training" we see for other endos to "be" the characters. It even gives us the root of what would eventually be Sun and Moon from security breach, let alone it being one of the oldest models of endos. And it also lines up to what Scott said in the dawko interview 2 about trying to go supernatural but always circles back to sci-fi. With this in mind, the story of fnaf becomes about a serial killer that uses anims to achieve his purpose. It was always weird that Scott said the place was "haunted", in actual quotes, when it may not even have been real and the killer was just controlling the anims remotely, something that is presented in fnaf2 when phone guy tells us that the music box can be wound uo remotely and the silver eyes that show us Dave having master control of the anims from the control room. All because the first 3 games present an impossibility of having what are supposed to be recorded tapes, but we, as the player and audience, hear the phone ringing. This is exemplified in fnaf3 night 2 when phone dude actually plays you one of these tapes and doesn't have a ring before hearing phone guy speak. 5 pixels of the chica beak completely recontextualize our understanding of the toy anims.

I think that the question "Do you still have dreams?" being responded to with "I'm scared" for a child would make sense, because if you think about dreams you have had, you might think about details of those dreams, which could lead to him being scared of them and stating that out loud. Remember, in FNaF 4, it is theorized that that whole thing was a dream sequence, and apparently lucid nightmares are vivid, so the Crying Child would not have a hard time remembering his nightmares, hence him being scared when being faced with the question. It really does sound like an answer a kid would give.

I think the movie can also be used as evidence that Dave is the middle child and that he probably died before Elizabeth was born. If Mike = Michael, Garrett = David, and Abby = Elizabeth, then it's clear that Elizabeth is the youngest (wether she was born yet I don't know, and I feel like the fact that her consistent nickname is "baby" also confirms the birth order). More importantly, I think it tells us that Elizabeth probably died after David, since Abby is still alive after Garrett's death
