The frontispiece clearly shows the design of a church.Any temple has a different design altogether.See the different churches in Goa most have similar designs in the front. Don't create communal disharmony in GOA.

Lower part is main entrance of sancoale. Upper part is modified by Portuguese over a period of 400 years to look like a church wall. There is no record in history of any church being built here nor any documents. Even Fr Eremito failed to produce any documents to prove there was a church

The archaeology department is only the protector of the monument because it is a state protected monument just like the Mangueshi Temple, Nagesh Temple and many other temples in Goa does that mean that the government owns these temples absolutely not. Also there has never been any evidence in terms of documents or historical writings pre dating Portuguese or during the Portuguese to prove that a temple existed at the location so next time before commenting do your research.

Honestly I feel extremely ashamed of these people. There are two local temples dedicated to the deities. But they want to build more. I am a Mahajan of these temples and i feel there is no need to build more temples. I don't see any benefit in doing so. Vijayadurga is a form of Vana Devi, we revere her in nature and groves and not in concrete buildings.
