Hi Nicole! I am almost completed with the Google IT course and I think that it is a great course. I am moving forward on my next phase of a job offer as a Support Analyst. I explicitly told them that I was going through several IT courses through Coursera, and the company offered to reimburse me for my subscription under continuing education. I'm currently taking this cert course, and it's actually really well done. Most self study things are a drag for me with my ADHD, but I really love the short length videos and the frequent break ups with questions during the video and mini tests between videos sometimes and at the end of each section. It's also so affordable and such a great entry point. 10/10 certification course

I had no experience in anything I.T. except for extremely basic knowledge of JavaScript. But I took this course as a pre-req to get into WGU for cybersecurity and it’s definitely worth it. Also it can be done in a few weeks if you spend a good 2-3 hours on it a day.

I did it in the other way around. After finishing a broader IT course with A+, Network+, Sec+ and PenTest+ I enrolled this course. My over all experience is really good. I think this is such a great course with a comprehensive study material for those who are seeking to get into the field. Most of the contents echoed the CompTia A+ but the exam part is much easier of course.

I can listen to 2 hours stage talks but I can't bring myself to focus with that guy. Do you whole heartedly think this cert is good enough launchpad to the field of i.t. help desk? What would you recommend to study afterwards? I'd like to have a skill that at least give me the option to work from home(anywhere in the world). Sounds like the money is good enough like that so that's my goal. One of the i.t. fields I'll enjoy and make enough money to be financially independent.

@@izzyh.3581 No, I wouldn't say that whole heartedly. But it gives you a chance. If you don't like the subject maybe it's not for you. First of all try to find that what you would like to do. And look into how to achieve that. I'm currently also not working from home but I am not passionately seeking that as of yet because I want to get more hands-on experience in the industry. Nevertheless these days your chance to have a remote role is much higher than some years ago and I don't think that it will be fading away. Search and send your application, at least one per a day in the area where want to move. Keep going!

Any certification for IT is worth it. IT is a skill valued in various places. My dad once told me that there's a whole load of unnecessary excess information that they put on IT job postings, but all you really need is a Bachelor's and know the skills needed.

@@pranavpillai7778 progressive companies no longer bother about bachelor's or masters these days. Coz every random person can manage to get one. It's the skills that matters in the current world. Even a simple skill like excellent English vocabulary can help you easily land a job without college education. Degrees hàve became like an extra top up for the actual skills.

University education must be there only for students of top intellectual and academic abilities. Colleges must abolish sports scholarships and getting easy scholarships to get into college. There must be stronger emphasis on academics more than anything.

Thank you so much this was a very informative video, I discovered your channel recently and have been really enjoying your content. I clicked on this specific video out of curiosity. I myself am currently in the google IT Certification course and do have the Coursera yearly subscription as well. As you stated, I found the yearly subscription was the best value for trying out multiple areas of Technology to help decide where to specialize. As far as my experience with the Google IT Course, I passed my A + certification back in 2016 and was looking for a course as a refresher. I have to say even as an Experienced IT Specialists this course is very informative and entertaining and I find myself learning new things along with relearning some core concepts. Lastly, I am also taking the Google Python for IT Automation course which has been a great experience as well. Keep up the Great Content !!

There are a lot of remote helpdesk jobs, I believe you can search for remote jobs, but some common titles are desktop support, help desk technician, it support specialist, tecnical analyst, it support technician

Both have pros& cons. I would say if you were going to skip this, AWS or Azure certificate would be more beneifical than CompTIA A+ DEPENDING on what you want to do. A+ is great for helpdesk/desktop support but AWS & Azure have more marketability & demand
