Let's also mention that thanks to AMD FSR being available for fairly recent cards (NVIDIA GTX cards and AMD RX 5xx cards), this card can still be relevant for even a bit more longer.

I just upgraded from a GTX 1660 paired with a 2600x to a 4060ti with a 5600x. I loved my 1660 build and it served me for about 4 years! The reason I even decided to upgrade was because I stream and want to keep up with some of the more recent games. It's definitely still a totally fine card, given that the games you try to play are optimized (looking at you Jedi Survivor).

It is a very reliable and good card, Been using it and it runs the game almost perfectly, You just have to keep the settings to a "below average level" for a 60+ FPS experience in triple A titles, You can also use this card in your first PC build, It will surely get you into gaming and if you want a good GPU for competitive gameplay, You can rely on this card, Thanks to Nvidia for making this card, This card is the only reason why I still trust in Nvidia.

Gtx 1660 will always have a special place in my heart, that videocard pulled me through some of my most depressed periods. That thing tooks so much abuse from me, and it never ever gave up on me. Ive replaced that system 1 week ago. But that old box with the 1660 in it now has a special place on a desk of mine. It may sound strange, but I really do love this 1660 for all the stuff it did for me. It has kept running for YEARS with merely taking a break from running, and made sure I had my mind on something else then going psycho in a bloody rage. Absolute unit of a card.

I started VR during the pandemic. I did my research. Based upon that and my budget, I found this 1660ti card on eBay. It was just under $400. It was the cheapest one. I don't regret buying it at that price. On most of my VR titles, I am able to get up to 120 frames per second at max settings on some games. And that's wireless! When I'm not using VR, it's fast enough for my 1080p 165hz monitor. High to highest settings. I think it'll be VR capable into the next few years. I've seen them go down as low as $150 now.

i still have a 1660ti, and because NVidia basically gave the gpu manufacturers free reign with this card, we ended up with some of the 1660Ti's having WAAAAAY faster memory clock speeds and sometimes higher core clock speeds than the Then released 2080Ti at the time, and it performed almost perfectly at 1080p at the time. Although because my card has been put through rough 4 years of being in my pc, i think its time for an upgrade here pretty soon, so I might grab a 40 series card since the performance uplift compared to my card is Pretty overwhelmingly justifiable at 1080p since i just don't see any point in 1440p and 4k other than probably getting an expensive monitor and letting off the gas on my cpu... so i might just buy a really good cpu with alot of cores so that my 40 series card wont bottleneck at 1080p. I actually think the 40 series is fast but it was too fast for this generation because of the cpu's that are available that cant meet the requirements it needs for the graphics card released by NVidia this generation meaning that the cpu's are at their limit when it comes to 1080p right now for the most part (this is excluding the 4060 series because it sucks and its just a rebranded 3060/3070Ti), so i think that when amd and intel release new cpu generations, we might see a really good uplift in performance for the 40 series and amd's RX 7000 series.

Does a 1660ti Gigabyte OC model without the box (the seller lies that the owner's mom threw it way lol), knowing that he definitely mined on it since I've seen him selling many mining GPUs claiming he only has 1 of each + is selling mining rigs and PSUs too, on the condition of a 30min 3D or furmark test before buying with 1 week return; worth it in your opinion? BTW I already bought and returned a rx580 from the same guy bcoz it was thermal throttling in gaming mode and could never hit it's rated 1366mhz. 😂The audacity of the guy telling me "U shouldn't switched from compute mode!!" so the low 1120 clock could cover up the card's age and with 25-40% less perf.

@@p.granger8824 I agree, when buying mined cards it's nice to count the possible mileage on a card. The xfx card that I bought is made in 21, one of the last ones they made in assembly due to mining craze and has a totally different bios and box. that's why it was the cleanest inside. You're totally right tho, the 6x series and even 5x cards are mined for less time. But in general now that I know better, the gddr5 cards if they're working well and have a safe testing period by the seller they're perfectly fine to buy and are 100% steal for 60-120$, I bought the rx580 for 48$ btw

Ah my bad, I mixed it up with another game. If you have game pass, I would still download it and give it a go. But if you have to buy the game, I would probably hold off. I will be doing a lot of testing with Starfield when I get access to it.
