Just got in today from a 1,200 mile run over 1.5 days on my ‘22 heritage classic. I agree with you that you CAN tour on these but the touring line gives you more weight that helps with wind, more fuel capacity, slightly better wind protection, and less vibration. My longest day was 700+ miles. That was a lot.

How did you mount that ipad? i would love to put that on my Heritage.

I just feel more comfortable and at home on a heritage. The old model heritage anyway. Mines a 2016 before they changed them. I like sitting down IN the heritage in that relaxed position. For me riding position trumps everything else. And I’m a 6’3 guy so it’s not like road king was too big for me. It feels like sitting on the back of a horse on road king. The heritage I sink down into the bike

Yo Grandpa, loving the footage n drone shots its a pleasure to watch bud. The softy is what many of us call the light HD touring model, a great bike ⭐

I think where I draw the line is if you’re going to be riding two-up or not. If you’re by yourself that heritage is going to be plenty good but,if you are riding two-up and you need more room more space and especially comfort to do a 600 mile day, that heritage just is not gonna do the trick

Can you show us what setup you have on the fairing?

450 to 500 is good for me. It’ll keep me from getting too tired

with that rider backrest, cruise control, hwy pegs to prop your feet up.. I'd say it's plenty good for touring. love the dead wood green .

You were near me when you passed through Medford Oregon. We run up the coast regularly. Where do you call home?

I'm 69 now, had a 2001 HSC. I've had 2 SG's and 3 RG's since the HSC. I'm of the age I don't like the weight of the RG, I wanted something more nimble and easier to handle. I decided on a '24 Heritage 114". I will say that I do not feel an appreciable difference, very, very little difference in comfort. I have put Mustang Seats on all my bikes since a '97 RK. Touring on the Heritage 114"? A resounding yes. I've ridden over 300,000 miles in my motorcycle life. Last bike I had was a '22 RGS, Redline Red, with an S & S 128", CR480 Cam and a whole lot more. 125/145. Now that I'm on a bike that weights 720 pounds wet opposed to one at least 950 pounds, it's remarkable how much faster the Heritage seems that a bike with $10K worth of engine work. The handling is so much sweeter than a bagger, too, IMHO. I'm happy, but I also knew what I was getting into when I bought the Heritage. Lot's of improvements since 2001, saying the least.

Speaking of motorcycle trips. I wanna do CA to NYC (Ground Zero) soon. Just need a bigger bike with fuel capacity. And I sat on the Heritage and fell in love. I just owe too much on my Rebel 1100T. What is that screen on your bike?

We have a rebel 500 in the family and the tank is real small... get about 105 miles out of her between fill ups. The coast to coast ride sounds amazing. Definity one of legends

Which seat did you go with? I have a Corbin and it’s a brick. Just did a 1500 mile trip on mine last week. You can tour on it without issue.

Im in the market for an HD … I’m in a debate for a RK or the Heritage. I can’t decide which one to pick 🤔

i want to take my 96 heritage Softail from Wisconsin to Florida next spring so bad, i bought a mustang seat but the stock one is way more conferrable, maybe 60,000 miles has broken it in, what do you suggest i upgrade to make the ride more enjoyable. comfort wise?

A driver backrest makes all the difference for me. Whether it’s an adjustable seat mounted backrest or just using a travel bag to lean back on. When you can throw legs up on highway pegs and lean back against a backrest it’s like flying down the road in a recliner 😂. Just having options to shift around your position helps a lot
