MY IPHONE 13 PROMAX SURVIVED A HOT WATER WASH CYCLE WITH SOAP!!! I couldn't find my phone after coming home from the yard. Searched everywhere before the realization sunk in that my phone got mixed up in my laundry basket ....after I JUST threw it in the washer 😭 the washer completed a double rinse with hot water and TWO spin cycles and when I started pulling my clothes out, lo and behold my precious phone was sitting in the bottom of the washer. I reached for my phone and with a pit in my stomach I picked it up and it instantly lit up! I was too stunned to speak 😂 this is my first iPhone by the way, and I spent wayyyyy too much to take a total loss so soon. At least my phone is all sparkly and clean now 😅😅😅

iPhones have been pretty water resistant for a couple generations now. I’ve showered with my phone, swam with it (fresh water, pool water and ocean water) and every time it’s been completely fine. I’ve thrown it in the deepest end of friends pools and used it under water for pictures. Rest assured. It’ll be completely fine. 100% O.K. The only issues you might have will be muffled speakers but only for a few hours while they dry out. Y’all… don’t stress this at all. If my iPhone 7 was perfectly good. Your iPhone 13 will be FINE lol. I would avoid hot water tho but everything else is cool. It’s a phone. Relaxxxx

Well I had an iPhone 8 and that was considered water resistant as well. However the water got inside the phone and my buttons stopped working (home button too). I took it to the service where they told me that the guarantee does not include water damage issues. They disassembled my phone and dried it. The issues I had were gone, but I wouldn’t recommend trying if it really is waterproof. I have a 13 now but I still can’t trust in something that’s is theoretically waterproof. (Sorry for my bad English)

I also think this applies to new phones. Phones that have been exposed to heat and cold weather I’m curious. After months of usage with exposure to driving with a phone mount in sun and any cold weather, you would think the seal might expand and contract weakening the adhesive.

The seal wears over time naturally. Only if your phone exceeded normal operating temperatures, then yes the seal will have degraded more. And you will know if it has exceeded safe temperatures as you will either have a notification pop up, the phone shuts off, or the phone disabled everything apart from emergency calling until it cools down. So if this has never happened, then your phone would have still been within safe temperatures and the seal would only experience normal rates of degradation

I did have to scrub the charging port with alcohol afterwards, but it’s unphased, and still on. It’s been on since well before that. It never lost power. Still working flawlessly.

It did cause corrosion in the charging port triggering the phone to go haywire with liquid warnings until I cleaned it with alcohol and a toothbrush throughly. However I never power cycled it and it took the cleaning and reverted to normal.

It’s definitely completely waterproof. I dropped mine at a marina and it was submerged 8 feet deep in a murky river for over 12 hours before a diver could come get it out. I honestly thought it was a lost cause but needed it because I had my IDs and debit and credit cards in my wallet case. As soon as the diver handed it to me, the screen lit up like nothing happened. The speakers were of course a little muffled for a few hours and I got an error that there was water detected in the lightening connector when I tried to plug it in, and to let it dry out first, but it was still at 72% battery life so no big deal!! The iPhone 13 is 100% waterproof!!!!

The iPhone 13 13Pro 13Max and 13Pro Max have a waterproof rating of ip68 which means it is built to be able to be submerged up to 6 meters under the surface of the water for 30 minutes, it could possibly submerged for a little bit longer though.

I've been in plenty of situations where the iPhone is my only computer. So, I need it to be resilient under some pretty harsh camping conditions. To properly test an IP68 phone, you would need to submerge it in about 5 ft of water (preferably salt water) for 30 minutes. Take it out, dry it off, turn the phone off. Come back 3 days later, turn it back on and check to see that everything is working properly. Recommending that people clean the phone off by rinsing it under running water is also very bad advice. The IP68 rating is an insurance policy that should not be tested unnecessarily. If the IP68 protection fails, the manufacturer will not warranty the phone.

I was writing a message in the shower, it has been saying that there is water in the charging Port for several days now and sometimes it charges normally and sometimes in doesn’t. The phone wasn’t even that wet, any solutions? I think it’s a shame of Apple advertising that it’s waterproof even if it’s not
