Yeah mate I would definitely go with the bush co or Alu-cab if money isn’t a problem they are a better tent for Long term as well

Cool thanks for your honesty about it. 👍

Even if a man has the resources, is it better to buy the Bush Co or Alu-Cab tent? Or save those resources for repairs, entertainment, emergency or rescue? I almost pulled the trigger on the BC RTT this morning until I saw an Ironman 4x4 swift advert for a Labor Day sale here in the states. It's a substantial savings.

Sorry for the delay, we’ve been thinking about your message. We would say personally it’s good to have safety net and go the cheaper option

Hey mate, I’m interested in how you fixed the tent so close to the canopy? I get you said you got some rails from bunnings, but did you fix those to the tent or the canopy? Are there rails already on the tent itself? And then how is the tent and canopy all tied together securely? Overall what is the distance between the bottom of the tent and the flat top of the canopy? I know it’s a lot of questions! I just have a canopy as well with super high rails on it and going to try and cut them off and find a better way of getting the tent as close as possible to the roof of the canopy.

Hey mate this is how I did it, I bought 2 Square steel poles from Bunnings cut them to size then bolted them to the canopy, then sat the roof top tent on top of the poles and bolted the roof top tent to the poles or you can attach the poles to the tent first it’s up to you, then I attached the long brackets to the roof top tent like you normally would I just got longer brackets hope this helps and makes sense 👍

And sorry there are rails on the bottom of the tent already 😊

Make sure you use rubber washers so it does not leak into your canopy as well

Fuel economy?
@Bridgeandjosh Жыл бұрын
I didn’t notice much of a difference since installing it, I kept the rooftop quite low to the roof and it’s more slimline to some of the others too. The hilux is also great on fuel especially because we had a 105 before which help massively to save on fuel haha
