Bismuth has more energy at the bird. That's why it is better! Flight Day is better than Boss legacy but cheaper than war chief. Makes sense. I also find it funny guys will complain about the cost of a shell yet they have $25k boats, $1000 sitka waders, $2500 sitka outfits, $1800 benelli shotguns, and $1000's tied up in decoys. Not to mention the cost of leases, club memberships and fuel to get to this spots. Yet when it comes down to arguably the most important component of gear to kill the duck, they choose to skimp out. It's only money, they make more of it everyday.

I shoot everything…went on a snow goose hunt years ago with snow addictions. The one guide I hunted with said people come down with all the expensive stuff through the cheap. He recommended fiochi #2s. Cases were $110 each. Stuff was great. Used them at home with no complaints. I’m not paying 2$ a round

@@rockybirddog to each their own. I have shot steel and bismuth I know I shot my limit quicker, have less clean up shot on cripples so it’s never just straight 1 shell to 1 shell comparison.

Boss is $2.05 a round and flight day is $2.27 a round without the discount. For comparable rounds

Right but with the discount it’s cheaper boss doesn’t have a discount

@DuckGunChronicles um, I discovered a 25% Boss discount this year, unfortunately by the time I shared it with my buddies Boss had already cancelled the code. I saved $45, if I new it was one and done I'd have ordered more

1 1/4oz. of steel is going to have more pellets than a 1 1/4oz. of bismuth. No comparison to pattern density.
@DuckGunChronicles4 ай бұрын
You will be able to use a smaller pellet in bismuth and still have better lethality so you’ll be able to have a denser and pattern
@HawkEye020884 ай бұрын
You have to shoot a 3inch round to get 1 1/4 oz of steel. You can shoot a shorter round and have a better pattern with bismuth. 2 3/4 always patter better then 3 inch. And if we're just talking payload you have to step up to a 3 1/2 inch round to get 1 1/2 oz of steel but then you lose the pattern with the tall shell. Bismuth has always filled the gap of the best pattern and payload in a shorter shell. Steel just can't do this
@meghan75473 ай бұрын
@@HawkEye02088 You evidently don't know a lot of shotguns and pattering. I shot competitive, 23,000 rounds a year for 5yrs. Every shotgun, every rifle, every firearm, likes what "it" likes. With shotgun, shot size and choke are the determinants to effective patterns. Are those factors able to be "tweaked", yes they are. Not every shotgun shell is the same, even with the same shot and size of shell. That being said, we are speaking of "effective" ranges for a shotgun, not a rifle and 500yds.
@HawkEye020883 ай бұрын
@@meghan7547 steel is not ethically effective past 40 yards when taking birds. We aren't shooting competitive trap or skeet here. Just trying to clean kill mallards 😉
@meghan75473 ай бұрын
@@HawkEye02088 Are "you" really that ignorant???? You can't kill ducks and geese with steel beyond 40yds, you need to quit shooting. We clean kill Mallards all the time at 40+, snow/blues and specs even further. Evidently you haven't a clue to speed, shot size and chokes with steel shot.

@@kevinmcguire9516 I said the most affordable if you use the code which is true. I have nothing against boss they make a great shell too I’m just glad people are choosing to shoot something more lethal than steel and Flight day is a great option too
