I like your hand guards. Can you tell me the brand and model number? I need to get some for the 230R I just bought.
@HardBoiledGregADV Жыл бұрын
I have the Cycra ProBend hand guards on the Husqvarna. I really like them. The Kawi 230R has no hand guards.

What were the names of the musical tracks used in this video ? Would appreciate it. Fun vid too BTW. Looks like a fun crew 👍
@HardBoiledGregADV3 жыл бұрын
You know, that's a good question about the musical tracks. I picked all of the tracks out of the free selections in KZbin Studio. I don't recall what they were calls. It was a fun crew. That was one of my most fun rides so far.

What was that large black ball on the left side of your handlebar? some kind of easy-to-hit kill switch?
@HardBoiledGregADV3 жыл бұрын
You are probably seeing the ball mounts for my removable mirrors. My Husky is street legal, and I have two DoubleTake Adventure mirrors that I attach to them. I take them off when not needed.

hi i am 16 and look for my first bike, i am about 5'7-5'8 130 do u think this would be a good bike for me
@HardBoiledGregADV2 жыл бұрын
This would be a fantastic starter bike. It’s tall like most dirt bikes, but it has very tame power with a very linear delivery. My son learned on this bike.
@chrismills21923 жыл бұрын
About 11:45 your son begins a hill descent. Looks pretty radical. Is there anywhere on the video I missed the KLR230 coming up that hill. I figure if it can handle that, it can handle anything I could throw at it. I'm torn between the KLR 230 and the Yamaha XT250 which doesn't look like it'll even be available in Canada this year.
@HardBoiledGregADV3 жыл бұрын
We never did go up that same hill. We did one direction only. However, there were a couple of other hills he did in the same video that are equally as steep. Also, the Kawasaki is a KLX 230R and not a KLR. See the other videos on my channel from 2021 especially the one called “Is the Kawasaki KLX 230R a durable trail bike? Part 2 - Green River.” That is one year later with more time in the seat of the bike for my son. He rode much more difficult terrain in that video than in this one. The KLX 230R is certainly a tough bike.
@chrismills21923 жыл бұрын
@@HardBoiledGregADV Right you are, Greg. I misspoke when I put in KLR. I'll check out the other video in that case. Thanks for replying.
@HardBoiledGregADV3 жыл бұрын
@chris mills I would totally get the KLX 230 R over the Yamaha XT250. I researched both and looked at the Yamaha numerous times. The KLX with fuel injection has a buttery smooth transmission and very linear power.
@chazlayton32034 жыл бұрын
Awesome video! Those are some quality trails. How tall is the klx rider? Does the bike feel small to him? Thanks
@HardBoiledGregADV4 жыл бұрын
My son on the KLX is about 5'10". He is taller than me now. The bike is just the right size for him. It's actually a little taller than my Husky FE 250 is (with a lowering link), so it's a full-sized bike for sure.

@HardBoiledGregADV3 жыл бұрын
The Kawasaki KLX 230R is not a street legal bike, so no it won’t be a good street bike for you. I’m not into street bikes, so I wouldn’t really have any recommendations for you. Sorry.

The guy on the 230r.... Wow, talk about anxiety.. His balance was just.....................
@HardBoiledGregADV4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's my 17 year old son. Not only is he new to riding in the last few months, that was the first time he really rode the new 230R that we just bought. Prior to that he had been riding a KLX 140G, so it's a big size and weight difference. It was a bit intimidating, but given some of the stuff we rode he did a great job. Cheers!

If you watch the latest video on my channel called "Kawasaki KLX 230R Brake Bender, Day ender" you can see how much my son has improved in his riding on the 230R. We aren't enduro stars by any means, but with the good number of riding trips we have taken this summer we are both feeling much more confident.

something not right with that motor, not supposed lije that, You need to rechecked it. And new full system pipe.
@HardBoiledGregADV4 жыл бұрын
I’m not quite sure what this comment is supposed to mean. The bike ran fine. It does idle high in first gear which is supposedly by design by Kawasaki, but other than that it ran great. The stock pipe on it is fine. Yes, there are mods that may give it better performance, but we wanted to run it as a stock, low-budget bike to see how it did. A more experienced rider could certainly get more out of the bike.
