The Adaptive cutting system is super easy to use and incredibly accurate cuts are normal. I love mine and wonder what I did before I found this system.

I have had the Kreg ACS, with all the accessories, since 2020. I give it a qualified recommendation. Used properly, it produces clean, accurate cuts. I'm glad I have it. When I was younger, I could fairly easily rip or cross cut full 3/4" plywood sheets on a table saw. Today, I can still do that, but my back won't let me do much of anything for the next several days! Even if I didn't need to worry about my back, I'd still prefer to use a track saw for breaking down sheet goods. The Kreg ACS makes it fairly quick and easy to make repetitive cuts. I've used it to make built-in book shelves and cabinets. My shop is filled with shop furniture made with the saw. A couple of suggestions: First, try to use it with a vacuum. While the dust bag works well, dust collection is even better with a vacuum. Besides, if you're making a lot of cuts, you'll need to empty the dust bag frequently. Second, take the time to clamp the wood being cut to the table and use out feed support. The dog holes make it fairly easy to clamp the wood to the table using track clamps. More often than not, you can get away without clamping the wood. But, occasionally, the wood will move while you're cutting if it isn't clamped. With the price of quality lumber today, that can be an expensive mistake. Taking the time to clamp is cheap insurance. So, why a qualified recommendation? Kreg chose to make their saw fit Kreg's unique saw track. They also chose to use 3/4" dog holes on their table. (The standard is 20mm holes spaced 96mm apart.) By departing from the standard track and the standard sized dog holes, most of the accessories made for track saws cannot be used with the Kreg track saw. That might be alright if Kreg made a full line of quality, but reasonably priced, accessories for their saw. They don't and they haven't introduced any new accessories since I bought my saw four years ago. If you can live within the confines of the accessories Kreg has already produced, you will likely be very happy with the saw. But there's a good chance you'll find yourself wanting more.

I believe TSO is starting to make a rail guide square and parallel guides for the Kreg ACS system. If you look there are a number of 3/4 dog hole accessories out there,

I also have multiple 3/4” dog hole items in my shop. I believe that dog hole size is still a preference unless you live outside the US.

Like that it is a lh blade for RH user. All the other track saws, to me, are backwards. Too bad they made their track proprietary. I too, am a retired Engineer, PhD, and appreciate build quality and versatility. I'm on the fence, so to speak, on 2hich track saw to buy on my retiree budget. Thank you for the review and thoughts, very helpful

i bought the acs a few years ago, made some cabinets then got a saw stop and forgot about it. i just blew the dust off it and made built ins on site at my daughter's house. man this is a nice system. accurate and repeatable. the coolest thing is i bought S2S poplar for the face frames from a local saw mill, then got the freud rip blade for track saws. it's very satisfying making your own dimensional lumber thanks for the review

Did you try using the track lock (red knob) with the 45 degree tilted cut? That should remove the issue w the saw wanting to fall off the track. Keep putting out your quality videos.

Kreg isn't a name that should ever be part of a recommendation for tools. They make cheap, plastic stuff. You can do better.

Wow man you sound like a tool snob that thinks if he is not paying hundreds if not thousands more for a tool he can not use it. I have this and a Kreg Router table and yes they are not the best I guess, but for the money I would not feel guilty recommending it to anybody. A comparison to this is A Festool MFT table plus add ons and TrackSaw and even if you buy a cheaper saw than a Festool, you would still be paying over a thousand more.
