As someone who got the XPress 750 about 2 weeks ago and have put a 100 miles on it, here are my thoughts: 1) Wish there was a brake light and turn signals. 2) the 2.1 wide tires are wider than I need 3) trying to figure out how I can get different assist levels so that it always gives you max wattage depending on PAS level. Currently, the controller cuts off the power when you go over a certain speed. 4) motor is not as quiet as I was hoping for. Cannot stealth in the neighborhood as people outside can definitely hear the whine of the motor
@chemistclips2 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your feedback regarding the noise. I'm a new Express 750 owner and I too am disappointed at the degree of motor whine, even at lower outputs. You can barely hear it in this video (he's got the 500W variant).

Just want to be clear. My previous post was only listing the cons. The pros of this e-bike are many fold. The important basics: bike frame strength, brakes, motor power, PAS responsiveness, display quality and info, comfort, speed, and overall performance is top notch. I am very HAPPY with my purchase. Again, the motor noise is noticeable but after “listening” to other reviews of other competitive e-bikes on KZbin, I think this bike is not any worse.

@@Simon-oq6ds Yeah I'm very happy too! After nearly 100 miles on it now it seems quieter. I had the chance to observe the sound as a friend rode my bike and honestly after you're 20 feet away you can't hear anything...I was more conscious that I'd be bothering my neighbors on my early commute, but I don't think it's noticeable.

Great review. Thanks for making it clear that the slightly bent forward riding position is intentional, for those of us who appreciate the benefits, on our regular pedal bikes for instance, and are comfortable this way. I am tired of other KZbinrs and commenters complaining that the stem is too low and the bars are too flat, when the Lectric went to all the trouble of designing the step-thru model just for them. Just choose that one.
@MicromobilityIndustriesАй бұрын
Thank you for watching it! You're totally right! Different strokes for different folks. One of my buddies can't stand a "comfortable" riding position. He wants to be aggressive, lean forward, and that's how he enjoys riding. It's definitely something you'd probably want to know BEFORE you buy a DTC bike, so I think it's important to throw it in there.
@naturallybikes2313Ай бұрын
@@MicromobilityIndustries If you're already an experienced cyclist it's a no-brainer -- you take one look at the high step and know who it's for. Same goes for the Julie Andrews style Xpress step thru. But, seems like a lot of people buying ebikes haven't been on a bike since childhood, and don't know a thing about the different kinds. Therefore I wonder if Lectric needs to be more clear in their marketing, about the "aggressive" riding position of the high step, so that people don't pick the wrong one, and then complain. Cheers and once again, good job.

Regarding the amazing(?) suspension fork. Lectric makes a big deal of it in their promo material -- how they re-invented it, in-house and everything. But to me, it rides like every other cheap coil-spring-only fork I have known. And then there's the preload dial. I have turned it every which way, and can't notice the difference. I'm not complaining, considering the bike's price, just failing to grasp the hype around the fork. The thu-axle is nice, I'll give you that. Your thots?
@MicromobilityIndustries28 күн бұрын
Yeah I wouldn't say it's the most amazing front fork. I think they're proud that they developed it in house, and for most riding, based on where you'd ride this thing, I think they do a great job of keeping the ride soft, and keeping you in control. The through axel is very nice, and not something you see a ton of at the price point, so definitely love that fact.

Which would you prefer 750 or 500 or Aventon Level 2?
@MicromobilityIndustries28 күн бұрын
I'd personally probably go with a 750 (depending on terrain) I like the extra power vs. the range you might get out of a 500W, which pulls less on the battery. I'd take either one of those over a Level.2.

Great review, very informative. The audio during the ride portion was weird in that your voice was only in my left ear, so it was a bit uncomfortable. @@spartankittygames I’m not sure how the market is for a single gear bike that goes to 28mph. That would be a lot of ghost peddling

@@DM-fp8uw ideally it'd just go 20 similar to the lite. Though my want for a single speed is less so about the dislike of gears and more hoping it'd save some on cost and weight. Hey Tony! Thank you for the feedback! The Velotric Discover 2 is a pretty nice bike, and honestly for the price is pretty compelling! I think if Lectric made an $1,899 commuter/cruiser bike it would be pretty phenomenal though. Again, I apprecaite all of this direct comparison, because at the bike shop here, we always recommend people test ride the bike they came for, and some similar ones, and it's honestly closer to 75% of the people leave on a bike they DIDN'T come in for. @MicromobilityIndustries3 ай бұрын
@@havok3344 Derailleur, yes. The shifter, a lilttle more difficult. The throttle is on the underside of the bars, on the right side. If you upgraded to trigger shifters, those would clash. So if you wanted to do that, you might have to get a different throttle, that could go on the left side, which is what most brands do when the have the trigger shifters installed. Definitely doable, but not a quick and easy swap out sort of move.
