Just got an rx 580 last month but the 4gb version, it's still pretty good still capable of doing 1080p as long as you don't max the graphics but 4gb isn't really enough these days especially modern AAA Games but for me this is enough. I went from a UHD 630 IGPU to a RX 580 which is a really big difference and i'm happy for it.

I can't get my RX 6750 XT to work at all, tried every fix you can think of. Back to my RX 580 for now. Watched your video to make me feel a bit better about it. LOL. Mind you, it runs Path Of Exile 2 on high settings at 2k res, using dynamic resolution with great performance. Always above 60 fps.. That really surprised me. It definitely is a great card today still. I can put money down on it, if devs really optimized their engines/games very well this card will still run anything today without a hassle. @1080p, in triple A gaming though.

I have RTX 3080/12. And I run CB with path tracing. 1440p, DF optimized settings, DLSS balanced. Anywhere between 45 to 60 (vsync lock) FPS. Usually closer to 60 than 45 (Dogtown). So yeah, 3080/12 can ray trace without problems.

But yeah, was mostly referring to the lower end cards like 2060/4060 where people use RT as one of the reasons for choosing Nvidia over AMD when it's just silly cause you lose so much performance turning it on at that tier of GPU. Also that being said, seeing how the B580 handles RT on Cyberpunk 1440P, that comment became even more out dated/wrong LMAO

​@@dimmacommunication There are issues atm with the B580 and some older CPU pairings. In more CPU intensive games, the B580 is under performing for 1080P. It's not all games but hopefully drivers can sort this out, esp since they are still pretty new

@@dimmacommunication I dont think the 7600xt is fast enough to fully utilize its 16gb of Vram. I would look at the RX 6700 XT or the 6750 XT if you can find one at 300 or less. 12 GB of Vram and both cards are solid performers, esp at 1440p. They are right above the B580 in performance (when b580 is working properly with its CPU pairing) and a solid all around choice. I have a video using it that comes out on the 15th but plenty of info out there about it.

Yeah the whole time I was testing it, it just kept impressing me over and over, legit insane performance for the price, esp since I had just come from testing the A770 and how many issues I had with it, granted that was at 1440p but still. Also are you admitting to cheating, dark.. sus (also also that GPU that got higher score was actually doing a dif version of the test but I had to build drama for the vid of course, def not me being blind and not noticing until after and making up excuses :p )

And it was fun cleaning up the GPU, giving it a makeover and giving it a second life ^ ^ The person I had bought it from had bought it for a build and never used it, so who knows where they got it from. It also has a dual-BIOS switch on it and I am not sure if one of them was set up for mining. I don't really know enough about GPU BIOS and memory timings to be sure. But yeah I almost wanted to send pics to person I bought it from cause I doubt they would even recognize their GPU lol. This is the 3rd GPU I have painted and I def did the best on this one, it almost looks like it came from factory as pink \o/

I actually rocked an RX 580 up until last October where I managed to get a windfall and get a 6700 XT. The only thing I hated about it was the fact it was a 2048 SP version, but since I'm in Southeast Asia, it's the most common and readily available version, and the 2304 580 is about $10-$30 more expensive. IMHO, if you're getting it between $50-$80 it is still very good value well into 2025, but it is definitely a budget PC build GPU that runs pretty much any game you throw at it in medium-high settings so long as it's before 2020. But you know what? That's fine, that still covers all but the most graphically intense games out there. If you have a computer worth around $300-$600? I'd say it's worth it. Certainly beats scam graphics cards as I've seen GT 710s and 730s still going for the same price as the 580s on Aliexpress and Amazon...

@@GrainGrown It's really a 570 with a 580 BIOS because when I tried to install a 570 driver it just refused to work. I'm not that upset about it, though. They're common and after looking around, the 2304 SPs usually fetch a higher price; like 25-30% more locally for only 11% extra performance.

By that logic i could take a dump in their living room and place a label on it "chocolate muffin" and they should be drooling over the delicacy. I go by the rule of thumb, if it looks like a pig, sounds like a pig and smells like a pig then it most definitely is a pig. Even if someone dresses it in a wolf costume. But then again.. logic doesn´t seem to be a strongpoint with a lot of people nowadays. It´s more about what they "feel" like and what they want to believe in their delusion. And about the modded part... why not be honest and sell it as a rx570, nothing wrong on that. The part that i dislike about the cards... that plenty of sellers used some old 570 chips or even 470 chips and modified the bios to read 580. For me that card is a fraud. Especially when you consider that you can get actual 570 and even 580 cards on ebay for cheaper, the risk of having a run down miner chip is pretty much the same.

TLDR: 8gb of vram is perfectly fine for most games these days, just adjust your expectations and dont expect to run everything on ultra high presets and raytracing garbage on

for 1080P* But the interesting thing with less Vram is sometimes you don't know that small details/textures are either not rendered or look as nice. But I mean, if you can't notice and it still looks fine, does it really matter? It can also effect your FPS and your lows. That being said you can def still game with 8GB Vram, esp on a budget. Like you said, just have to adjust your expectations. I will say though, if the RTX 5060 drops with 8GB of Vram for $300+ that's a crime lol

I was about to grab this GPU for my budget video editing/gaming rig, But I found out RX 580 is bad at video editing specially Adobe premiere and Adobe after effects (what I used)., I need a gpu that can do video editing on 1080p and 4k without breaking my wallet. So I ended buying GTX 1650 for 50$. But I'm amazed Rx 580 can still holding up! Specs: Ryzen 5 3600 6c/12th T-FORCE TUF 16GB c16 3200Mhz GALAX GTX 1650 4GB O.C 1Tb crucial SSD 2TB barracuda HDD CV 500watts PSU I only play valorant and minecraft.

Is 4GB of vram enough for editing though? I have tested some editing on the RX 580 but not with Adobe so I can't speak there. I have a vid coming out next week using the 580 for content creation though. Either way ty for sharing! I would like to test a GTX 1650 as some point too, I think people sleep on the value of these old GPUs and how much use they still have. And that's a solid build ^ ^

@@SayachanQQ Yes the 4GB VRAM is definitely more than enough for me since I only edit video ads on the company I work with and Adobe applications are geared more towards Nvidia GPUs especially the CUDA cores.

I have a RX 580 2048SP from SOYO ( I like to see it as an higher clocked rx570) and it has been really good with my lower end garage computer. I paired it with a e5 1650 v2 with a 4 ghz overclock and it will plays games quite well. I think I got the card around 50 bucks so it wasn't too expensive. The only thing that is weird about it is that the computer will reset the power limit to 100 watts instead of using the the full 150 but its not hard to change back just annoying .

what benchmarks tell you, probably not but if your just looking for raw performance it still is a very viable card and I play CS-2 with it all ultra settings and it get's around 80fps.

It's got more CUDA cores, double the vram and a bigger memory bus and if you paint it pink it gains more power ^ ^ That being said, I would give it to the 580 cause the Vram dif alone
