This is my lg velvet first look after using it on AT&T 5G in the US for the last 2 weeks. the velvet 5g has been praised by some gadget guy and myself in the past and now I can finally share with you my thoughts on the best snapdragon 765G tech. the Lg Velvet camera vs others video is in the works right now. should be out soon.

@Arthur Javier You can cancel any line except the recently upgraded line and the new line . Also , how was false churn not be passed on to the customer yet ? If you cancel one of the 2 lines thats not involved in the promo , thats fine . would recommend waiting until you see the BOGO credits on your bill before cancelling an old line though

Great commentary. I was going to get a Velvet later this week to replace my nearly 3 year old G6, but didn't really consider the second screen, thinking I wouldn't really need it, and don't want the extra bulk. I am reconsidering now that I've seen all it can add to the experience.

I've had my dual screen Velvet for 2 week now. Love it. Battery life is great. Sound quality is excellent. I am also pleasantly surprised by the photo and video quality, which got mediocre ratings. I find that the dual screen isn't much heavier or bulkier than a normal high end smartphone like the Iphone 12. Also, with the phone half open, I find it's easier to carry and feels more secure in my hand. I was worried that the 5G would consume my data more quickly, but actually the opposite seems to be true. I'm quite pleased!

A brilliant and insightful video as always. LG's dual screen is hands down the best phone accessory that I've ever used and I really miss having one. I only wish LG would get their act together and release both the V60 and the Velvet in the UK as both phones deserve a wider audience.

The way I see it: LG made 2 affordable flagships. The Velvet is about style and built quality where one sacrifice raw power in order to make it reasonably priced. The V is about raw Power and built quality for those who need a utility machine as appose a fashion accessory, again in order to make it reasonably priced one need to sacrifice on style! It would have been nice to see 90Hrz on both but the 2nd screen makes up for it. That's an approach I would like to see more from more OEM's as appose the Ultimate All in one approch which cost a fortune (we need one or two of these but these day we have too many). For example Motorola could have made the SD 765 Edge only but with glass back as style and the Z5 with flat screen but SD 855 ➕ for utility - because that's the whole point of that phone - and sell both around $700.

Thank you for a great review. Would have liked a little more comparison on the audio (music) between the 2. I didn't look at the Velvet as it disappointingly omitted the Quad DAC. LG should have known better!!!!

LG Velvet already has external monitor support and desktop mode. Use a USB-C to HDMI or a hub with such to connect it to a big screen. It'll automatically do so/ask if you wish to use desktop mode/Screen+

I've been looking at monitors, especially widescreen ones in budget, like LG's 29-inch IPS 2560 x 1080 (29UM69G-B from Walmart; slightly over budget really, but I'm thinking for once I'll get a good monitor for graphics, programming, video editing, etc. that will last for years). Seems like it would match well (I'm making a suitcase laptop :0). Does the desktop adjust to different screen sizes? Thanks for the pointer to Screen+. I've not used it yet, just getting organized to update things. And yes, I'd like to try to use it as a desktop. It works really well as a 2nd screen for Win10.

After 2 weeks of my new LG V60 with little use, the case is defective. Outer clock display quit, had charging problems using magnetic adapter. Lucky, have 1yr warranty and 30day return so am returning it. May look into the velvet instead.

I’m Germany we also got a 4G Snapdragon 845 model for 480€ (vs 600€). But I am not sure which one to buy... :-/ since 765g is a lot more modern. And I know nothing about the differences in image processing right now. I would buy the Velvet S845 for reviewing purposes, but buying it twice would be too expensive...

@@Nasrum1 have got it today. Honestly: this version feels like a real flagship xD but still. Camera is a true weak point. In spite of advertisement it is clearly worse than my iPhoneXR. It is seriously (no exaggeration) disappointing. Though the new Video stabilization is unmatched. Battery life is after updating the software really good. The phone is feeling so light in the hand, it is incredible. Better off to buy the 845 variant IMHO. A lot cheaper and more power (GPU: up to whopping 80% lol😂).

No, my understanding is the camera is moved slightly- cases won't fit either- still waiting for T-Mobile to get a dual screen velvet- not sure if I want the extra weight of the V60

Good luck getting the dual screen with T-Mobile, they don't offer it. They have the Velvet for $600 ($588) and then if you want the dual screen, that works with the T-Mobile phone, you have to pick up it from LG for 200 bucks.

When taking photos/videos with the dual screen attached, the secondary screen would be filled with control layout and the main screen acts as the view finder only.

XD if LG could come back and do a new one just like that but with better specs, I would totally leave my samsung a54 on the spot xD I bought the a54 thinking it was really good for the price, but i'm not convinced with the photo quality. at least with the velvet dual screen I would totally rock with several social apps open to check news from everywhere and everyone and work at the same time! hope LG comes back one day! great video!

Great info nice device a ton of features for that low price. Sd card and headphone jack metal and glass water resistant mil spec 2 year warranty no camera bump wireless charging stereo speakers Huge 6.8 oled almost 21/9 like older LG phones. And than a second screen and true a give stylus if you want as options. I do not think another phone currently is a feature packed, plus 5G and a big battery.

You're comparing apples to oranges bud. This is a wrong choice pick. Velvet is a Mid-range phone with mid spec components. The V60 is a Flagship phone with higher end specs. So if you want something better speced out V60.

Great video as usual! I hope LG will make a dent in US with this phone - the features do change how the phone is used unlike some of the other options being promoted. I wonder how LG will handle the Mediatek Dimensity && SD845 versions in terms of bootloader unlocking and optimizations. The sd845 is EMW - listed on LG's bootloader unlock website. No idea which version the EMX and D designations are referring to but they are on the unlockable list as well. Maybe D is for Dimensity?

@User12 doesn't matter if they like to or not. Qualcomm raised prices and Mediatek's offering is compelling especially for 5G capability. LG Velvet with MTK Dimensity was spotted on Google Play Console listing, which while not 100% reliable, is at least a good indication for LG at least exploring the option.

V60. Better processor and specs. Velvet would be something if you're more using it for basic tasks. V60 has 865 processor and Velvet only has 765g. The 865 has 1200gigaflops of gaming power. While the 765g is only at 580gigaflops. So you're loosing over half gaming performance if you go velvet.
