I love the Dimmu Borgir inspiration they have on this track. The choir very much feels like a nod to their song Progenies of the Great Apocalypse.

My one and only gripe is the lack of multiple solos from Chris, but otherwise this is a great sign the next album is a return to Reclaimer era. Ben's voice is in top form as always and Bryce is killing them drums softly and Andrew is laying down some thick ass basslines. I completely agree that I place them above Lorna Shore I think they are the best band in this genre hands down.

Yay! This song is going back to the deathcore sound they have in their first two albums and i'm not complaining. I don't think it's better than Melancholy though, the song and album was so good but not as good as Reclaimer 👀 Hope you enjoy the song though and can't wait to watch this tomorrow! 💚

the migrant is a huge callback to their earlier work and i absolutely love it. that sci fi deathcore sound amplified by how much the band has progressed since then is nothing short of spectacular. but imo melancholy is still the pinnacle of shadow of intent. melancholy is the perfect album. i guess we’ll have to see what the next album has in store

(long but informative comment) I'm gonna give you recommendations of just my straight up top 10 favorite SoI songs in case you want to do an extended SoI video. Also some context of each album at the end. My top 10 songs are written ahead, I wrote a one word descriptor next to each so if you want to get a good mix when doing a longer video you know which is which, if you consider those spoilers don't read the parentheses after each song name. Beaware the last 2 are quite long instrumentals. This is my order: 1. The Prophet's beckoning (melodic) 2. Barren and Breathless Macrocosm (H E A V Y) 3. Melancholy (ignore) 4. Malediction 5. Saurian king (balanced) 6. Blood in the Sands of Time (balanced) 7. The Catacombs (H E A V Y) 8. Underneath a Sullen moon 9. The Dreaded mystic abyss (instrumental) 10. Aftermath in Jat-Krula (instrumental). ALSO, a little background info on this band, this is the genres of each album, kind of: Primordial (2016): straight up crackhead neoclassical shreddy insane symphonic deathcore, Reclaimer (2017): more mature symphonic deathcore, Melancholy (2019): This is somewhere in between straight up death metal and core, it has core elements but not nearly like Reclaimer and is as symphonic as ever, Elegy (2022): This is where they really deviated from core and went almost straight death, but still with some core elements, and it's symphonic but a very melancholic, dark symphonic style. I hope I provided some decent context and recs, and pleeeeeease do more SoI, literally my fav band of all time, see them life if at all possible, fuck ben is a beast behind the mic.

Prophet's Beckoning is my favourite track from Reclaimer along side The Forsaken Effigy. That song is so good and the solos gets me everytime :3

@@kepsuda Before I saw it live, it was the "oh I forgot about that track on the album" song, but after seeing it live, SO. FUCKING. POWERFUL! There's a short on my channel of the end of the song. Not saying that to plug myself (I haven't made content in a literal decade lol) I just can't tell you how intense it is live, front row, at almost the end of a great concert!
